President Donald Trump said he was “very angry” and “pissed off” when Russian President Vladimir Putin criticized the credibility of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s leadership, adding that the comments were “not going in the right location.”
Agence France-Presse reported that Putin on Friday called for a transitional government to be put in place in Ukraine, which could effectively push out Zelenskyy.
“If Russia and I are unable to make a deal on stopping the bloodshed in Ukraine, and if I think it was Russia’s fault — which it might not be — but if I think it was Russia’s fault, I am going to put secondary tariffs on oil, on all oil coming out of Russia,” Trump said in an early-morning phone call with NBC News on Sunday.
“That would be that if you buy oil from Russia, you can’t do business in the United States,” Trump said. “There will be a 25% tariff on all oil, a 25- to 50-point tariff on all oil.”

What is really going on here the Mainstream Media and Never Trumpers support Zelensky.
Trump still buddies with Putin haters like Lindsey Graham who got his endorsement this week.
It’s a pretty fecal pond we are in with Ukraine.
Putin is a ‘war criminal’ wanted by the International Criminal Court. Benjamin Netanyahu is a ‘war criminal’ wanted by the International Criminal Court.
It’s easy for President Trump to support the second ‘war criminal’ but in his heart he probably is friendly to the first ‘war criminal’.
Russia will slowly but surely win if this thing drags out and if Trump cuts Russia Russia will join up with China.
Was that the ultimate plan of the Ukraine War supporters out there?
NBC
Not

Credible
Your first mistake is believing NBC news without a full transcript of the interview.
Perhaps. But the war will take another 10 years.
For reading the NBC article, it also says "The president’s comments come after he had previously criticized Zelenskyy, saying he was 'sick' of his handling of the war and falsely calling him a dictator."
Quite the impression -- until the entire interview is released for the details -- that President Trump is "sick" of both Putin and Zelensky.
Given that our United States is about 4 percent of the world's population, that the European Union is larger in population by millions, and that there are about 200 nations in the world, the notion that a non-NATO Ukraine's war with a non-NATO Russia is somehow President Trump's to solve is becoming laughable.
Besides which, the war is already over, according to some: 'Putin's already lost the war,' says Biden Le Monde, 14 July 2023 Ain't it a funny old world?
President Trump and Vice President Vance might well conclude that it is time for that budding, blustering "coalition of the willing" in bold, brave Europe to take charge and solve the mess.....
Is anybody else starting to get the feeling that Trump is getting a bit unhinged with wanting to bomb Iran, his obsession with Greenland and using force to get it, same witb the Panama canal, picking fights with every country...
I like the guy, but I wish he would rein it in a bit and focus on draining the swamp.
At least some see the truth.
“Is NBC ever going to release that full interview?”
Trump has the right people around him...he’s just not listening to them.
Wait! How can this be? NBC has been telling us that Trump is Putin’s puppet, and we all know NBC never lies. /sarc
My assessment hasn’t changed. Trump wants a ceasefire but he also will have a limit to his patience. This is a case where he has given Putin an inch and Putin wants the mile. Putin has been toying with Trump and trumps gonna lose patience. Z may not be helping, but it’s not about Z now. A collapse of Ukraine is not in anyone’s interests except Russia.
Z has never been on Trump’ side. In fact, he is Trump’s enemy.
Trump will help them for the first four and Europe will be limp for at least that long IMHO.
IMO, Zelenskyy is a rogue dictator whose actions cannot be predicted nor depended upon.
If I were the President, I’d make it known that the US will neither support continued fighting nor deal with peace negotiations until there have been free elections in Ukraine.
Russia’s latest nonsense about putting Ukraine under UN administration as well as including the BRICS craphole countries in the ceasefire negotiations was another sad attempt by Putin to stall for time.
Keeping Russia in China’s camp is a genius move (not).
Folks may need to recalibrate their presumption of US weapons inventory.
It is popular to imagine that the US has sent only old and inferior weapons to Ukraine and has far better ones that will change everything on the battlefield.
Not likely. This derives from the perpetual presumption of US technological dominance. It doesn’t exist.
Besides which, if you want to kill large numbers of troops, what you need are large numbers of pounds of explosives. The US does not have that. It doesn’t locally exist and it’s not a matter of money. The raw materials are scarce outside Russia and Kazahkstan.
So the poker face, is out.
There are millions of available U.S. cluster artillery shells stored in South Korea available for President Trump to ship to Ukraine.
There are millions of U.S. cluster artillery shells available in Turkey, too.
Withdraw from NATO and Europa.
Make it known we will never come to their aid ever again.
Our attention is here, in our own hemisphere as well as the Pacific rim. And far east Siberia is part of that region.
Make a trade deal with Russia for raw materials from there.
