President Donald Trump revealed that a staffer with national security advisor Mike Waltz's office included the editor-in-chief of the Atlantic in a Signal group chat with senior Trump officials who were discussing plans for an upcoming strike on Houthi rebels in Yemen.
"It was one of Michael’s people on the phone. A staffer had his number on there," Trump told NBC in a phone interview when asked how Jeffrey Goldberg, the Atlantic's editor-in-chief, was added to the high-profile chat.

Hate to break it to you but compared to other countries in NATO, America is WAY behind.
Other alliance countries are well down the road of using very modern multifactor authentication approaches (there’s even talk of Free Republic adopting it) and Europe stopped using SMS messaging ages ago. Telegram , Signal, and WhatsApp, are totally prohibited for live discussion of ongoing military operations.
Has the USA done all of the same? Not really. Which is even more concerning when you have a senior politician sat IN THE KREMLIN using a Russian owned app over a Russian provided internet connection.
For secure messaging, in NATO , there’s XO Mail and NI2CE Messenger, with its security reinforced through Armour Mobile and MFA.

If I'm correct, it was a deliberate attempt to camouflage Goldberg.

Your suggestion that Trump Team uses the left’s actions against them by making it seem like more of a “security threat” would be the equivalent of Trump doing exactly what the OBiden Cabal did re: the J6ers... just to score points for their side... and making it into more than it really is. You sure you want him to go down that same road? I don’t. I want the left to pay for their actions, but trust me.. there will be enough of that without having to “embellish or exaggerate”.

According to WH, the ‘contact label’ on the phone had a different name on it, not the Atlantic journalist’s name, so they thought the person whose name it had was the person in on the chat, not the Atlantic guy.

If nobody in the chat who saw JG in the room thought to ask in chat, “Don’t recognise that guy... Who’s JG? Please identify yourself” the question you should be asking is, why the hell didn’t they. Are they completely dim? Even a SCHOOL LEAVER joining our postroom wouldn’t be that dumb.
Where I work, we seniors actually test new hires in team meetings by getting one of us to dialing in from an unmanaged device - in Teams it automatically flags that joiner as unverified.
If they don’t challenge it, we bring it up in the meeting and they keep failing to challenge it, they get sent on a cyber security awareness course.
The staffer should probably be fired; Watlz should probably resign.
I'd wait until we know EXACTLY how this happened. But I'd only give it a week to find out.

As I said earlier, Jeffrey Goldberg from The Atlantic has released the FULL Text Message Chain.
If that staffer is a Biden administration holdover, then you know it was not a “mistake” they included the Atlantic journalist on the chat - it was intentional sabatoge.
Walz was supposed to have cleaned out the NSC of holdovers so there would be no repeat of the Vindman running to Congress with the “I’ve got a secret - guess what I heard” garbage. Sounds like he either didn’t care or there was a leftover mole there or they haven’t used good hiring practices. Either conclusion doesn’t make Walz look good.
If that true, Waltz needs to be fired and the leader prosecuted.
Yeah, but Gabbard UNDER OATH said nothing classified here, and POTUS said the same, so revoking SC would make no difference.
Can’t have it both ways. Either this stuff should be classified and the conversation should be tightly curated on a proper secured app, or it ain’t classified so any old Tom, Dick and Harry can be roped into the call.
There’s a certain point where people are going to just realise that the administration cannot spin this as a conspiracy by the Left as it has Walz
We can clearly see stuff in the chat that should ONLY be discussed in a closed, secure chatroom. We can clearly see nobody’s identity is verified. We can clearly see two Susie Wiles, two Brians and a Jacob - who were they? Who is SM? Is TG Tulsi Gabbard or Taylor Greene? Answers on a postcard, please.
