President Donald Trump revealed that a staffer with national security advisor Mike Waltz's office included the editor-in-chief of the Atlantic in a Signal group chat with senior Trump officials who were discussing plans for an upcoming strike on Houthi rebels in Yemen.
"It was one of Michael’s people on the phone. A staffer had his number on there," Trump told NBC in a phone interview when asked how Jeffrey Goldberg, the Atlantic's editor-in-chief, was added to the high-profile chat.

I’ll bet the Dems defend the staffer but still demand all of Trump’s team to be fired.
If this staffer is friends with Goldberg, he’s no friend to Trump supporters. He need to be shown the exit door immediately.
Somebody had to do the mis-labeling intentionally. It was no accident.

This sounds more and more like a set-up and a planted scandal.
Considering the actual content of the discussion, it sounds like they may have set a trap to expose the moles!
I know NOTHING about the app Signal. I understand it’s an encrypted app so how is it that even if they sent the messages to Goldberg’s number he had the ability to read the encrypted information. Hard to believe the government wouldn’t have software that doesn’t have more secure encryption that only authorized persons can decipher. Pretty sure Elon’s folks can probably program that in less than an hour. I think someone sabotaged the Trump agenda by getting that journalist onto the group message system. The anti-Trumpers are hard at work from the Democrats to the “journalist (but I repeat myself) to the partisan judiciary members to derail anything Trump does.

Perhaps Trump is wrong to minimize this. I understand the argument of not wanting to fight the ‘Rat’s fight. Trump has enough on his plate.
But, Trump could state that this WAS highly secret national security that was breached. Throw Goldberg in jail until he convinces Trump that the secret information has been destroyed. Arrest the “staffer”. Prevent future breaches of security.
Fixes are justified by the magnitude of the attack - and, of course, fixes are warranted.

It has to be deliberate. I go through hoops adding my family to texts when I wish to include others. Not buying his number was added by mistake. And having his number with someone else’s name sounds bogus too.

Reports are saying that this “staffer” was a lawyer with the law firm of Covington & Burling. This is a leading Democratic law firm in DC which reportedly aided Jack Smith for free in his prosecution of Trump. Why on earth would anyone hire in the White House hire someone like this and put them on a call discussing national security matters?? Why is there a need for a staffer such as this when there are thousands of competent and loyal Trump supporters who never hear back from the hiring personnel? Did not Walz and his advisors learn after Vindman listened in on an NSC call and accused Trump before Congress of some ridiculous lies he said to the head of Ukraine?
