Asking for a friend...

Probably because there is most likely no smoking gun there. The real question is did Biden approve the use of the pen. If anyone were to ask him, he will say he did approve, end of story.

Tell your "friend" that before anything happens there has to be an actual investigation.

I know your "friend" wants to sit slack jawed and dull eyed watching while real life happens at the pace of movies but that is not the way it works.

They gotta charge someone who will claim he was pardoned, and run it up to the USSC. Otherwise it’s just a declaration of no import. Besides there a lot going on in the world.

Tell your friend that some things take time. First Trump took away Hunter’s security detail and they could move forward on the some of the charges and test the legality of Biden’s pardons. Trump says they are null and void. Pam Bondi might have mentioned it too.

Time will tell what happens. But it will have to be contested in courts and Trump has a lot more important things to worry about.

Would suspect he could use an AUTO PEN for Christmas cards, etc, but LEGISLATION & OTHER LEGAL DOCUMENTS SHOULD HAVE A “WET SIGNATURE”.

Sorry - Just because President Trump says the pardons and such are invalid don’t make it so in this case. I suspect there has been some wrong doing but nothing will come of it.

The problem is who is actually going to legally challenge anything that was “signed”? I think most people think the story is true but taking any action is whole different matter.

Right, the person charged must claim 1) that Biden gave him/her a pardon, and 2) that he/she accepted that pardon. Most people assume that a person who accepts a pardon admits to guilt, and SCOTUS has noted this previously.

Nothing ever happens when lawlessness is exposed. The most we ever get is some Republican senators of congress people grandstanding for a few days. Not saying the autopen is lawless, but this is normally the case when laws are clearly broken.

I will be surprised if there are any charges ever when evidence is revealed that laws have clearly broken.

Can anyone point to one slam dunk case where justice WILL be served concerning the illegal actions by personnel of the past administration? They will get away with weaponization of the legal system with no reprecussions.

I don’t disagree with you but I believe it’s legal to use the pen on official documents.

Only invalid if it can be proven the prez was also clueless about it.

Good luck with that.

Good point———check the official policy usage.....what it can and cannot be used for.

exactly ... impossible to prove to the contrary ... just one more of a gazillion frauds committed by the biden administration, the most corrupt administration since grant and harding ...

Is there a time limit on when that person “accepted” the pardon or is this another issue for the USSC to determine?

It is interesting since someone who accepted the pardon could be required to spill the beans on his/her culpability. Perhaps that’s the setup Trump is going for here.

The only time to raise the efficacy of the pardon is for a criminal charge to be filed. If the pardon is asserted as a defense, then it would be evaluated. If no charge, it is a factoid that is interesting but irrelevant. Courts don’t give advisory opinions for hypothetical purposes.
