Democratic Party rising star Rep. Jasmine Crockett, D-Texas, argued that Americans need illegal immigrants because they do the work that the college-educated in this country won't do.
Crockett reportedly made the comments while speaking at the South by Southwest (SXSW) festival on March 8.
In a video clip that went viral on Friday, Crockett made the point that Americans don't send their kids to college in the hope that they'll end up picking crops and cleaning hotel rooms, but that's what illegal immigrants do.
"How many of you are sending your kids to college?" Crockett asked the crowd. "How many of you are sending your kids to college to go and work on the farms?"
After no response, Crockett added, "Okay, so, guess who is working the farms so that you can afford your food? So that you can have food."
The congresswoman continued to make her point that Americans don't want their college-educated kids to provide these services and goods.
"Now, how many of you are looking to send your kids into hospitality after this college education so that they can go and make the beds at the hotels?" she asked.

A lot of our high school students finish school with a poor education in the essentials and few practical skills. The same could be said for a lot of college graduates. If some of them wind up working in housekeeping or in agriculture, at least that is work and there is dignity in providing needed and useful labor and earning an income.
It has occurred to me that, when I was growing up, “the jobs that Americans won’t do” — housekeeping, food production, meat packing, small manufacturing— and others that are now being done by immigrants, legal and otherwise, were being done by the Americans in my neighborhood.
I do understand, though, that they were of a different generation and had vastly different values
Hotels aren’t cheap.
They can afford to pay a good wage.

It’s not that today’s youth can’t
do the work, they don’t have the

Were I an illegal, I’d take offense
to this congresswoman’s placing
them in the slave labor catagory,
as them being the only class that is
able to perform this type of work.

She sounds like the typical democrat . . . all about slavery or at least 2nd class citizen cheap labor.
In most of Africa a small elite brutally controls the rest of the population—and then declare themselves a royal family.
Crockett would love it there—as long as she got to be part of that Royal Family.
Otherwise she would get beaten to a pulp anytime she dared open her mouth with her opinions.
So she wants cheap labor to pick crops? Hey, that problem was solved before the Civil War when cotton was hand picked.
Kinda funny this idiot is pushing for slave labor.

Crockette doesn’t think very highly of the illegal aliens. To her, they are just slave labor to scrub their toilets.
