Billy Joel is postponing his tour by four months 'due to a medical condition.'
A statement posted to his Instagram reveals the tour has been halted after the Uptown Girl singer, 75, underwent a recent surgery.
While the rescheduling sparked serious fan concern, the statement maintained Joel is expected to make a full recovery.

'The current tour will be postponed for four months to allow him to recover from recent surgery and to undergo physical therapy under the supervision of his doctors. Joel is expected to make a full recovery. The tour will resume at Acrisure Stadium in Pittsburgh on July 5, 2025,' the post, uploaded Tuesday, read.
'While I regret postponing any shows, my health must come first. I look forward to getting back on stage and sharing the joy of live music with our amazing fans. Thank you for your understanding,' Joel - who recently fell on stage - said in the statement.

I lost a lot of respect for Billy, because he did his long-time band dirty, especially Libery DeVitto.
Billy owed much of his success to having a kick-ass live band.
Yeah. Good one.
There’s a market for these 60s/70s acts because the music from the mid 80’s on can’t hold a candle to those hundreds of great acts. But clearly age is catching up which is why I go to as many as possible knowing it may be the last. Case in point, I’ve seen Steely Dan 4-5 times and I believe the second to the last time was with Walter Becker, and the last without.
I always liked him. Thought his end of the Cold War stuff was great. I wish him well.
Yeah
What’s really sad is the singers in wheelchairs, like Phil Collins.
I noticed Heart is touring with Ann Wilson singing from a wheelchair, as well.
I saw EC in late Summer 2021 with Jimmie Vaughan as the warm up act. About the first big show I went to where you didn’t have to wear a mask. Good on EC, I say. Was a very good show.
Then you see Sting, who at 73 seems like he's well under 60

Must be the tantric sex.
I keep thinking the Billy Joel is now “ the old man sitting next to me. Making love to his tonic and gin”
No doubt
I met him in 1982. He seemed out of place but nice enough.
I saw EC back in probably 1981 ish. The Fabulous Thunderbirds opened up for him back then.
I think that Jimmy Vaughn is opening for one of the shows up here I previously mentioned.
I just recall seeing EC in a wheelchair not too long ago. I seem to recall he had a real bad reaction to the covid-19 vaccine.
I just saw Everclear last Friday right here in Nashua. In a place that had 750 seats. They were really good. The lead singer/songwriter(Art Alexakis)said he was 63. Proudly clean and sober for 35 years now. The rest of the band is now different people from the originals.
Hes apparently Catholic. E52nd Street proved it. Great album. I’m a Pat Benetar/Neil Giraldo fan (Catholic)I’m just a Protestant. They don’t bother me one bit.
Or the fact that Sting eat like Tom Brady and does yoga everyday.
Probably the sex....
Great artist. He sucks on his politics in my opinion. Other than that I wish the guy well. People in music tend to be pretty close to some rather twisted souls. Surprised he made it to 75
Almost all musicians are liberals.
It just seems to come with the whole artsy persona.
Which musician were you referring to ?
I buddy of mine lived with a couple of brothers who were both attending the Berkley School of Music in Boston.
They were both very talented musicians. They were also both very strange dudes.
I had a former neighbor who both him and his wife met at Columbia College school of music. He was classic pianist. Had a grand piano in his barn. We used to hear him playing at night in the summer with the windows open. His wife was apparently good enough to be a concert musician with the stand up harp. Neither one were working as musicians. His family owned about a dozen golf courses. They were both very strange.
“I thought he was an atheist, at least at one time.”
That has nothing to do with his health or his music. Why include it?
That album was my favorite as a kid. I played that 8-track over and over.
Billy Joel created a lot of great music.
