The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) announced earlier this week that it finished phase one of its work in the Palisades and Eaton fire areas, clearing about 9,200 properties.
However, despite removing over 300 million tons of hazardous material, EPA deemed thousands of properties “too toxic” for clearing until phase two – which will be conducted by the Army Corps of Engineers.
Residents cannot begin rebuilding until properties have been cleared, but officials said deferring the properties to the Army Corps shouldn’t change the time frame when it comes to the rebuilding process.
Fire debris has also started to make its way into the ocean, leading to an ocean water advisory from Las Flores State Beach to Santa Monica State Beach.

How could all these mansions be so toxic?
You can even feel the toxicity

Perhaps EPA rules need to be adjusted. And I bet this is not controlled by laws passed by Congress. The toxicity, I bet, is determined by a little regulation thrown together by some bureaucrat.
yes
i would like hear what these toxic dangerous materials are
The ones with electric cars and solar panels with lithium battery storage back-up , maybe?
Because the EPA said so!
Might be the older ones had asbestos siding ynder their modern siding.
That land is much too valuable to be left in the hands of the owners.
In 2023, about 25% of new cars sold in California were electric vehicles, with the state leading the nation in EV adoption.
The dark secret, you are probably correct.
“How could all these mansions be so toxic?”
Consider who lived in them.
Do they say what the levels of toxicity are?
You can find something toxic in damn near everything these days.
After the San Francisco earthquake they rebuilt the entire city in short order, but that was before the dark times, before liberalism.
kinda like piglousy
DEEMED
obama vetted .
\/
eliminate / shutter / dispose
the EPA
( since they are just
‘ making shit up’
aka - deemed ‘
anyways )
problem solved.
Solar panels!
You just have government define toxicity downward
Every home or building that burns across the nation could be declared "toxic."
California Proposition 65 claims practically everything is a carcinogen.
Government is insane. I worked at a facility that had a MSDS on the bottled water.
I was hit head on while driving around a curve next to a small lake (teenagers lost control on a slippery rainy night). Totaled my car, and their engine block shifted - shearing the oil pan. Some of the oil leaked off the road into the lake, and the police called out the hazmat people. I don't think it takes much for something to be called toxic.
Except I’m betting only a handful remained on site and the rest were driven away. How do you think the majority of the people got out??
Tap water is hazardous waste as soon as it leaves the spigot.
