A new study published in PLOS One found that men and women misjudge what the opposite sex finds attractive. A research team in the United Kingdom asked 144 people — with an average age of 22 — to adjust a 3D model of a man’s or a woman’s face to match their appearance to find out what they believed the other gender finds the most attractive for both short- and long-term relationships.
Sharp, bold features like chiseled jawlines are often described as more masculine, while soft, delicate features like full lips are characterized as more feminine — and everyone’s rushing to plastic surgeons to achieve that look.
“We have demonstrated a substantial misperception of what men and women predict the opposite sex to desire in terms of sexual dimorphism of face shape,” the study authors concluded.

All I know is, this duck lips thing has gotten way out of hand.
Too many women have gone overboard and it looks ridiculous! I’ll cite Carrie Underwood as an example. Look at an old photo of her, versus a recent one. Her lips look like a circus clown. Not the least bit attractive, to me.

I cannot fathom why anyone that thinks looking like you’ve got two bowling balls in your chest is attractive.
Natural shape, no matter what the part, always looks more attractive than anything augmented.
What people find attractive in the opposite sex is very individualized. You really can’t compartmentalize it.
“Posture, confidence, kindness and many other aspects of one’s personality and demeanor all play a significant role in how people perceive each other’s attractiveness.”
Looks are good, but I always thought a bit of coyness, some playfulness, coquettishness, a sly passing wink, a flip of the hair, a longing sidelong glance, following me with her eyes, a light touch of the arm or shoulder were more important than physical looks.
“Study”. Uh huh.
I am still looking for an ole tail dragger…
What I can’t figure out is the appeal for the Kardashian butt thang.
Dumb a f.
I always admired CNN's Dana Bash for her unique look. The close set eyes, minimal forehead, aquiline nose and flowing hair...
And she got Second for Poise at last year's Westminster!
You are exactly right.
