Do not mourn the intrepid adventurer whose thirst for personal accomplishment or public notoriety drives them to ofttimes perish in the pursuit. They literally die doing what they loved.

Can we finally mark him off of the Social Security roll for good, now?

Actually Mt. Everest is NOT the tallest mountain in the world. That honor goes to our own Mt. McKinley. Everest is the highest because the base is at a higher sea level elevation, but from base to peak, McKinley beats them all.

I heard he voted for Kamala last November. 😹

If he were American, He’d still be getting his social security check.

They need to find the rest of him and most importantly, the camera. The foot is old news.

And that is all the more remarkable, since he was not an American citizen 🙂
Still sad to hear. May he and Mr Mallory have found peace ✝️

There was an episode of Alfred Hitchcock Presents with a similar plot. Yeah, the newlywed wife who's husband died the next day in an avalanche on their honeymoon. She waits decades for the snow to melt to recover the body of her lost love, spurning the love of the childhood friend who stood by her side all these years.
They recover the body and find a locket in his pocket with the picture of another woman in it. The wife turns away in despair and grief over the life she could have had.

I wonder if they will ever find the camera they took with them. It could prove that they made it to the peak first...

What about Mauna Kea on the Big Island of Hawaii? 13,796 ft elevation, but how deep is the ocean near the island?
