There was an episode of Alfred Hitchcock Presents with a similar plot.

Do not mourn the intrepid adventurer whose thirst for personal accomplishment or public notoriety drives them to ofttimes perish in the pursuit. They literally die doing what they loved.

Actually Mt. Everest is NOT the tallest mountain in the world. That honor goes to our own Mt. McKinley. Everest is the highest because the base is at a higher sea level elevation, but from base to peak, McKinley beats them all.

It’s amazing they got up that high wearing the clothes they were wearing compared to the clothes they wear today

They need to find the rest of him and most importantly, the camera. The foot is old news.

I wonder if they will ever find the camera they took with them. It could prove that they made it to the peak first...

A brave man. I like to think that he and Mallory made it to the summit. If only their camera could be found one day.

I remember seeing the National Geographic documentary of when they found Mallory. They were actually looking for Irvine and his camera. They didn’t expect to find Mallory.
Irvine’s camera would be a sort of “Holy Grail” of mountaineering, I would imagine.

If he was 22 when he died in 1924, he was born in 1901 or 1902. The oldest person alive now was born in 1908...she is the only person born in that year still alive. Two people born in 1909 are still alive.
