Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin expressed frustration over not being asked to serve in the Trump administration, saying the president's "gatekeepers" are "tight."
Speaking to NewsNation's "On Balance With Leland Vittert" on Friday, the former Republican vice-presidential candidate said she's "frustrated" that she hasn't been asked to be a part of the administration.
"I thought that there would be a position in Energy in that Department, because that's my baby: wanting energy independence for America. You know, that's all about security and sovereignty of our nation is to be energy independent," Palin said. "But that hasn't happened."
The 2008 running mate of the late Sen. John McCain said she's been surprised that her background in an energy-rich state and national politics has kept her off the administration's short list.
"I didn't even get credentials to attend the GOP convention, if you can believe it," she added. "They're tight. They're tight.
"And I'm the only living Republican nominee who had run for VP or president who supported Trump. And even I couldn't get in. So, you know, yeah, they're pretty tight ... but I'd love to serve."
Palin, who unsuccessfully ran for Congress in 2022, predicted that if Trump isn't able to get his mandate through, some personnel changes are likely to happen early.
"If things aren't going to be smooth, if his agenda is not going to be ushered in per the vote of the people, the wishes of the people, then I think they will regroup and maybe already change some persons," she said.

Really?
Hillary’s Democrat supporters in 2008 voted for Obama, because they didn’t like Palin as McCain’s running mate?
Then I recall many comments here on Free Republic in those days, in which many said they were more enthusiastic about McCain, specifically because she was his running mate, and was a strong conservative.
She hasn’t done much except her stint as Governor and a VP nominee slot. If she were a sitting Congressman or Governor or doing something interesting and incredible politically speaking, Trump might have tapped her for something.
Her private life may have kept her busy and that’s fine. But I am surprised she is whining about not getting selected by Trump. At some point it starts to look a bit like begging and groveling.
Normally, you have a great take on things - but this is unreality.
Democrats vote in a phalanx.
I wasn't even going to bother voting in 2008 until Juan McStain picked Palin.
She should never have left the governor’s office
She did it to save the AK tax payers money....due to all of the lawfare she was up against.
She’s not a billionaire ... she didn’t want to spend any more state $$ on frivolous lawsuits against her.
You forget how bitter they were because of the shenanigans Obama’s team pulled during the campaign.
It's an interesting identifier for certain types of freepers.
It shows that those people absorb the gas of The Gaslight Media like mother's milk, for one thing.
Some of these snarky catty comments are unbecoming of MAGA. Palin may or may not have a place in this administration but we all owe her a debt of gratitude. She was a galvanizing force for people who identified with the Tea Party movement back in 06 and 07. the TP evolved into MAGA. Most of the nearly million people who turned out for Glen Beck’s DC rally were there to see and hear Sarah. Palin and her family were destroyed by the media. Not everybody has the savy and the money to stand up like Trump did.
In those days a Governor in Alaska had to pay legal defense funds out of their own pocket. I recall seeing many times she owed almost $500,000 when she resigned. Lawsuits filed mostly by (D) law firms in DC.
That Alaska law has zinc been changed.
God bless Sarah.
Many of the comments, here, are beyond reprehensible, considering what she did for pre-MAGA (Tea Party), for the conservative movement, and, for Pres Trump .... she stumped, tirelessly, during his first campaign....and, what the left put her/her family through.
I lived in California then and could indulge not voting for president (unlike people in tossup states), I only voted for Palin, not McCain, and didn’t vote for Romney.
McCain would not have gotten me to vote for him.
That is a tribe
the swedes have tribes so did the french
But they were all causasian
Same here.
I voted for Milt Romney and Eddie Munster - but I don't remember voting for them.
Here is the video of the Governor making her statement about being able to see Russia from Alaska.

Well seeing as how McCain made it to 2018, you would have gotten at least four years of McCain, and Palin would have been irrelevant.
Look, I know what she said, and how Tina Fey mocked her.
It was more of a joke, as to how people would react if indeed she were made Ambassador to Russia. Actually it wouldn’t be all that bad of an idea.
It is the so-called “White Trash” of this country that digs coal, drives trucks, fights fires and bleeds and dies in our wars. The common man does uncommon things with courage, grit and patriotism. She is a great woman who has not been utilized like she should have been.
She’s not exactly a Kristi Noem. Never has been, never will be, never even came close. And was she much of a governor to begin with?
Her biggest stain is John McCain. I recall the love fest for her here on FR in those days.
The best way she can serve the Trump Administration is by keeping her mouth shut and out of sight.
Living in California gave me a freedom to indulge president voting principles that people living in tossup states didn’t have, I am very, very glad that I was not forced to make the decision of voting for the lessor of two evils in 2012 and could skip it without hurting anything.
