New York Gov. Kathy Hochul on Thursday night didn’t rule out removing Mayor Eric Adams from office after allegations emerged that the feds would drop their criminal case against Hizzoner in exchange for his help with President Trump’s crackdown on illegal immigration.
Hochul, the only official in the state who has the power to boot Adams from his position, revealed on MSNBC that she’s consulting with officials about the mayor’s future.
The governor told host Rachel Maddow that she read a letter penned by now-former acting Manhattan US Attorney Danielle Sassoon that claimed Adams’ legal team offered a “quid pro quo” in hopes of seeing his federal charges get dismissed.
“The allegations are extremely concerning and serious, but I cannot as the governor of this state have a knee-jerk, politically motivated reaction like a lot of other people are saying right now,” Hochul said.
“I have to do what’s smart, what’s right and I’m consulting with other leaders in government at this time.”
“This just happened,” she added. “I need some time to process this and figure out the right approach.”
Hochul’s comments come on the heels of her second-in-command, Lt. Gov. Antonio Delgado, calling on Adams to resign, accusing the Big Apple leader of being in Trump’s pocket.

There was a post yesterday or the day before about how Adams knows way too much of the corruption in NY. They push him too far and he will start exposing all the bad guys. He may have info on the Governor herself.
Not if toy look at the leftard rag “,The Gothamist” white leftards are livid that Adams is “as crooked as Trump” and are besmirching Scalia Bondi, etc.
I’m trying to get my hands around this: Is it now illegal, or even unethical, for an accused criminal to ‘make a deal’ with a prosecutor?
She’s worried on what Adam’s has on her and the DOJ deal for him. Removing him won’t remove what he knows.
Especially after there were calls to boot Alvin Bragg long before he persecuted DJT, due to his refusal to prosecute violent criminals, yet she never did.
She’s a dictator in waiting.
She’s floundering in the deep end of the pool
She’s in over head and flailing about desperately to stay on the surface

If she has evidence of that she can and should turn that evidence over and Adams could be held to account under NY state law. Attempting to escape prosecution by promising, in return, any political favor to anyone is likely an offsense, in New York, that could remove Adams from office.
As long as Adams obeys NY law (until a federal judge orders him to do otherwise), she has no case.
This, from one of the lawyers who resigned. He should sue her for defamation and make her prove it.
I believe that President Trump takes a particular interest in the politics of his native state, more than in, say, California. He would like to break the decades old grip the Democrats have on New York.
She ought to be worried about blocking the extradition to Louisiana of a doctor illegally sending abortion pills to be used on minors in Louisiana!
Also her interference in immigration issues is another federal offense!
