They don’t WANT to find fraud. It’s the simplest of things to check for duplicate use of one number. Simple.
They don’t want to know because the extra SSN usages collect some portion of wages or salaries, income from ‘somebody’ at a 6.2% clip. You cut the multiple useages, you cut the amount of money SSA takes in.
IMO, they actually know and keep track of all the uses of one number. The do this so all the extra funding contributed in the 6.2% doesn’t get added to the real owner’s account. That would make his SSN retirement payment higher.
If only they could claw back the last 6 years—so Trump could deliver a surplus!

When I worked for Intel, I heard a conversation of an Indian worker with SS demanding his parents get SS even though they had never worked in the USA.

Social Security is going to go tits up in a matter of years, and the usual advocacy groups are AGAINST an examination of the funds? Why wouldn’t they want something that could put off the “day of reckoning” until the program can actually get a permanent fix to ensure that retirees and disabled people actually get a decent payment?
I’ve always suspected that this Fraud is a large piece of the Voter Fraud, and funding of Illegals.

Since the Democrats are insisting DOCE is exploiting the institutions they are supposed to be investigating, Musk and Trump should publicly invite Schumer, Pelosi, AOC etc to accompany the DOCE investigators and Treasury personnel. It all should be documented on video so stories / accusations can’t be changed after their visit.
