Sunk deep into shaven and elaborately tattooed skulls, a hundred pairs of eyes – hollow and dark –are boring directly into mine. The men they belong to have committed crimes evil almost beyond comprehension.
Members of two of the most savage rival gangs the world has seen, El Salvador’s Ms-13 and Barrio 18, they raped and tortured, murdered and mutilated, cut bodies to pieces and strewed them around the streets to strike terror in the neighbourhoods they controlled.
On my journey to the world-renowned prison that holds them, the Latin American country’s new Terrorism Confinement Centre (CECOT), my government escorts had shown me photographic evidence of their grisly handiwork.
One man had been impaled with a tree branch through his torso before being decapitated; another was anally gang-raped before being tied to a car and dragged to his death.
Standing a few feet away from the cage holding 100 perpetrators of this kind of savagery – one of 32 mass cells that line Module 8 in the vast fortress prison – is a deeply unnerving experience.

...I pray all the more that they are allowed Bibles and other Christian comforts. The Holy Spirit has a lot of time to find His way into their hearts just sitting there.
There is a documentary about this prison on YouTube. The only time they are allowed out of their cell is for church services
Let’s bring that here. Sure would tone down the mayhem we have in prisons now.
“We’ll take care of our own.”
We’d still be paying for their upkeep, as it would be done with El Salvador as contractor.
I say people like Manson, Bundy, etc., would be fine in one of those places.
I’ve heard of those supermax prisons. These people are so heinous they should be dead. Why warehouse them at taxpayers’ expense+
The Gospel is something they are REQUIRED to hear. EVERY ... DAY ...
Because the statutory laws which they violated don't include a possible death penalty. Your beef is with the relevant legislative body.
>> How is this just?
See post #12, the one right above yours, for the answer.
Punishment.
El Salvadoran prisons are NOT!!! America’s country club prisons.
Just turn them all loose in the prison yard together. Last man standing.
That is not Biblical.
>> That is not Biblical.
Of course it’s biblical! Ever hear of Joseph?
Did you mean to say it’s not Christian?
That’s more than they deserve.
And when they die, they’ll wish they were back there.
Actually, we need the death penalty.
Prisoners that are that dangerous should have gotten their appointment with God.
Give them time with a pastor or priest and the opportunity to make their peace with God.
If they refuse, protect society by executing them.
The death penalty is.
Use that instead.
That is what is stated in the Torah, which is what I meant.
No capital punishment in el salvador. So the criminals rot in their overcrowded hellholes. The criminals would be better off dead
bump
They all need a reservation on Pinochet Airways Helicopter Tours.
It is terrifying to have this army not that far away.
