A 18th century barber would make sense, because they often did part time surgery in addition to cutting hair.

I don’t think that you could say this is definitive proof.
All of the Ripper’s victims were prostitutes.
Kosminski could have made use of Catherine Eddowes services leaving his DNA behind on the shawl.

Already solved years ago.

This has been around since 2019. None of the claims were peer-reviewed. There is concern the DNA was contaminated, and descendants of the alleged killer were in the room while the scarf was openly displayed. There is a claim that a family member may have handled the scarf. Furthermore, the barber was not put into an insane asylum until years after the last ripper murder. Why did the murders stop? Another Jewish person from Poland with a similar name was incarcerated shortly after the last murder and died soon after. The barber did not die until the 1900's.
White Chapel had or bordered an extensive Polish Jewish community. Like immigrants in the USA, police simply assigned names and, in the case of one Polish Ripper suspect, the police named him Cohen because they did not know how to spell his name. It turned out his name was Kamanski or something similar.
Since 2019, the claimant has refused to allow any peer review of his evidence and the process of determining if this is the Ripper. The claimant may be correct, but many questions could be answered by independent professional investigators conducting a peer review.

“Russell Edwards says he has obtained a “100 per cent DNA match” linking the killer to Aaron Kosminski”
Weak. Finding someone’s DNA on a murdered prostitute’s clothing does not prove that he killed her.

I’m also wondering how this guy could get a “100% DNA match” with a descendant of the original DNA source. So far, I tend to place this story into the category of tabloid nonsense.

Lots of speculation by others. Wonder if they’ll recant or return with more evidence to support their claims?
Portrait of a Killer
by Patricia Cornwell
Portrait of a Killer: Jack the Ripper—Case Closed is a 2002 nonfiction book by crime novelist Patricia Cornwell that presents the theory that Walter Sickert, a German-British painter, was the 19th-century serial killer known as Jack the Ripper.
Jean Overton Fuller, in her 1990 book Sickert and the Ripper Crimes, had maintained that Sickert was Jack the Ripper.

I could swear that Jack the Ripper was David Warner. I saw it in a documentary where H.G. Wells had to pursue him to the year 1979 in his time machine.
Jack the Ripper quote in 1979 while watching TV news: “Ninety years ago, I was a freak. Today, I’m an amateur.”

How do we know that all the victims attributed to Jack the Ripper were killed by the same individual? Could there have been copycats?
