After centuries of rumor and speculation, archaeologists have finally confirmed the existence of a colossal underground tunnel system beneath the Peruvian city of Cusco. Built by the ancient Inca, the labyrinth – or Chincana – radiates outwards from the Temple of the Sun, extending for more than a mile towards a fortress on the edge of the city.
The discovery was announced at a press conference during which researchers explained how they located the subterranean passages in three stages. The first of these involved studying historical texts from the 16th to 18th centuries in search of references to the Chincana and its whereabouts.
Among the most enlightening accounts was one written by an anonymous Spanish Jesuit in 1594, who explained that the main tunnel ran beneath the bishop’s houses behind Cusco Cathedral. The same text indicated that the passageway began at the Temple of the Sun – or Coricancha – and ended at the citadel of Sacsahuaman, some 1.75 kilometers (1.1 miles) away.

Bump
The direct connection to Sacsahuaman is SUPER interesting!
Cusco to keep DEI
For moving cast members back and forth between attractions without having to go through the park visitors.
“Huge Ancient Inca Underground Labyrinth Discovered Beneath Cusco, Starting At Sun Temple [It’s more than a mile long!]”

“Costco Refuses to Back Off Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Practices”
Looks like they want to keep hiring Incas.
I keep thinking of one of the Jacques Cousteau shows, the one in Lake Titicaca, where they had some old flakey Peruvian bird who claimed that the Inca built tunnels from Tiahuanaco (which is up by the Lake) “all the way to Cuzco” — this was according to the subtitles.
They cut in to Cousteau, with his BS meter going off, staring right into the camera, arms folded. “Cuzco. 500 miles from here.”
Alright you two! :^)
That makes the most sense, although the clearance is probably low, so they’ll have to carry their masks.
Know what, I think it is possible... I wonder if the system they found is level? If it is that may have been how they transported stone. They could have floated it...
If they choose to self destruct (which I doubt) stuff happens.
I will have to ask my mom if she has played golf with James lately.
Does costco do stuff I don't like, yes, but I am not a stockholder.
Does costco do a lot of things right, I think so.
Should Costco bring back the combo Pizza ? Please, Please, Pretty Please.. and you can even charge me 12.99
I'll bet this article was funded or lobbied for by the Teamsters Union who is going on strike 2/1 , even though DEI is what they are all about.
They are just trying to turn people against Costco.
"In pursuit of increased wages and renegotiated employee benefits, more than 18,000 Costco union members nationwide voted to authorize a strike if the wholesale company doesn't agree to their terms by Jan. 31.
The looming Costco strike marks the latest in a string of Teamsters union walkouts from employees of industry giants including Amazon and Starbucks.
The strike was approved on Sunday with more than 85% of Costco Teamsters voting in favor of hitting the picket lines if demands aren't met."
The 18,000 Teamsters union members who voted to authorize the strike account for 8% of Costco's mostly non-union employees.
I did it yesterday too, But just letting you know you might want to post this again in the correct thread.. :)
Actually, this topic isn’t sponsored by the Teamsters, so, y’know, snap out of it.
I’ve often wondered about warehouse club derangement syndrome though. “They go through the store and kick you out at closing time!” Wow, imagine. Other stores just shut off the lights and let you keep shopping on the honor system. :^)
I’m not sure I’ve ever tried their pizza, but somehow I got one of their insulated pizza carrier bags as a bonus one time.
More drivel in FReepmail.
D&D fans rejoice.
Looks pretty straight. They’d spend so much time trying to find hidden doors, it would take 400 dice rolls and about two months to traverse the mile or so. And the Uber Eats deliveries would be problematical.
Is that a French company?
Erik von Daniken wrote about those tunnels, “no human technology could...”
Hyperbole Police, but he did print bw pics.
