A former Dallas Cowboys quarterback should be considered a real candidate for the team to pursue at head coach.
The Dallas Cowboys have officially decided to part ways with Mike McCarthy, who has arguably been the team's best head coach in the last two decades.
Dallas faces the challenge of finding a new leader to guide the franchise to glory. Given McCarthy’s track record, there’s hope that the Cowboys already have a few viable candidates in mind
One name that stands out is Kellen Moore, a former Cowboys quarterback and offensive coordinator. Moore has familiarity with the organization, which could make him an ideal candidate.

Kellen Moore has zero experience, and “Coach Prime” has had two lackluster years at Colorado. Plus his son is ridiculously overrated and will be an NFL bust.
They were 12-5 3 years in a row. That’s not bad. I say that as someone who doesn’t like the Cowboys.
But it's true. He can't make Dak Prescott win playoff games. And he never will again.
>> The Cowboys won in spite of, not because of, Barry Switzer.
The Cowboys have some issues with skill and depth at various positions, including coaching staff.
But it’s clear from this thread that the bench is quite deep at the “armchair quarterback” position! :-)
Any coach worth his salt won’t want to be a “Jerry Puppet”.
I think Jerry should name himself head coach.
We know what Troy Aikman thought of how things were run when Barry was there...
Good thing for the bleeps.

Or George Seifert with the 49ers.
It’s Deon.
You know it. I know it.
Statistical studies of dak and mahomes prior to the start of the season showed the two qbs identical.
There is plenty of talent.
Some sort of fix is in.
My point does not include the fact that most college players would kill to play as a cowboy. Cowboys can get players at a discount but still nothing.
Or Mike Tomlin with the Steelers.
Problem is he’ll want to bring Shadeur with him, and they can’t afford him with Dak’s contract.
“Even by disinterested chance a team could not do this bad toward post season.”
Well the Bungals lost 5 straight playoff games in a row after only going to the playoffs twice in 20 years, which they also lost. That’s 7 playoff first round wildcard losses in 30 years. Let’s see Dallas top that. Of course they finally got Burrow and Chase and things have changed a bit, but they still lost the Super Bowl and have missed the playoffs the last two years. That’s why we lovingly call them the Bungals, never met a game they couldn’t lose.
Thanks.
This vid came up right after the one you linked. It was... enlightening.

Who’s the token black guy they have to interview?
I am a bengals fan and lived in Ohio 15 years.
I understand the frustration but they are why I find the Dallas situation absurd.
The Dallas franchise has exponentially more resources than cinci.
But the needle never moves. As I noted earlier I think dak is about as good as mahomes.
I still cynically believe that there is some sort of NFL sanctioned melodrama at work here.
wow
The NFL does sabotage the Cowboys when they are strong:
2024. 7-10
2023. 12-5
2022 12-5
2021. 12-5
2020. 6-10

Romo 5th least roughing the passer penalties of all quarterbacks in the NFL since 2009. [romo has been gone for a long time]
Offensive holding
2023 2nd
2022 7th
2021 1st

Then Jerry won’t have a problem..................
Ok, you also said
“How many coaches have had 312 win seasons in a row?” LOL
