A former Dallas Cowboys quarterback should be considered a real candidate for the team to pursue at head coach.

The Dallas Cowboys have officially decided to part ways with Mike McCarthy, who has arguably been the team's best head coach in the last two decades.
Dallas faces the challenge of finding a new leader to guide the franchise to glory. Given McCarthy’s track record, there’s hope that the Cowboys already have a few viable candidates in mind
One name that stands out is Kellen Moore, a former Cowboys quarterback and offensive coordinator. Moore has familiarity with the organization, which could make him an ideal candidate.

If I were the Eagles, I wouldn’t allow the Cowboys to interview Moore.

I call it “damming with faint praise.” Moore is at his ceiling as an OC.

I don’t think they have a choice. I think in the NFL, teams can only deny interviews for coaches if they are a lateral, or lower position. If it’s a promotion, I don’t think they have a choice.

Who would you say was better in the last 20 years. Parcells wasn't, with the Cowboys. Wade Phillips was the only coach with a better winning percentage, but not before this year.
How many coaches have had 312 win seasons in a row? Not many.

What makes anyone think Kellen Moore would be better than Mike McCarthy?

What make you think he will be a successful pro coach?

To: Red Badger
Because hiring a Cowboy backup quarterback worked out so well for them before.

    You are correct.
It appears they can prevent him from interviewing, though, until after the next round of the playoffs.

I still believe there is some sort of NFL rigging against the Cowboys.
Even by disinterested chance a team could not do this bad toward post season.
But this is as it has been the most valuable sport franchise in the world for at least a decade: 10 billion dollars.
No other NFL franchise comes close. But somehow in 30 years despite the NBA and MLB Confirming that money matters the cowboys cannot see results.
It’s impossible to get these results without a pro wrestling style gambit being played. They were unstoppable in the 90s but cannot get past round 1playoffs since. 30 years. It’s absurd.
