Probably for the Weather Channel to get better ratings.

“When the blizzard hits, why are we still commuting?”

What a stupid #%&$. It is because in the real world there is more to do besides flapping your mouth and using your office to commit fraud and theft with your laptop. In the real world equipment must be serviced and fixed, fuel extracted, food delivered, etc. and if those people didn’t go to work you would sit freezing in the dark eating your fur babies.

Oh don’t be a sissy Gleb. It’s just snow. Prepare for winter and even you will be fine. Or just wait for global warming.

Oh yeah. If no name, it ain’t a serious storm apparently. So, why commuting? Uh, your job? I remember living in McLean in the late 50’s. Thinking 59 IIRC. Dad had to go in to d.c., mom worked at the pentagon. Olds 88 rear wheel drive, no chains. I don’t recall them missing work because of snow.

I think the Weather Channel has been doing this for some time.

It really increases the fear factor.

To me it’s just stupid. Winter storms are a natural occurrence. Prepare for them as one would any other severe weather that’s been around since time began. This is all just hype.

Dear Gleb Tsipursky, I am waiting for you to explain how I can work remotely as a truck driver. Or as a coal miner.

I think the reason why they want remote work is so they can cut you off remotely when they fire you and you don’t have to even come down to the office. Having to come to site means they have to face when when they fire you.

Why is Gleb promoting remote working? All the pros and cons are known. It has to be an anti Trump dig because he announced that the fed workers have to return to the office. I guess Gleb doesn’t know about the joy of snow days. I just like saying Gleb.

Situational Awareness: A Critical Life Skill You Didn’t Know You Needed:!

January 6, 2025 Lindy Comments 0 Comment
From the Epic Times (1/3/2025):

A domestic disturbance call is made, a police car arrives, and two officers step out. The scene is chaotic. Screaming can be heard from inside the house. Toddlers are crying in the front yard, and it’s after dark.

The officers are trained to analyze the situation quickly, detect potential threats, and ensure the safety of everyone involved—including themselves.

Their training teaches situational awareness, the concept of being fully aware of what’s happening around you. It’s critical for those in the military, law enforcement, and professions like first responders to help them deal with stressful and potentially life-threatening situations.

Mayorkas: ‘Significant Increase’ over the Last 10 Years in ‘Homegrown Violent Extremism’
Breitbart ^ | 01/05/2025 | Pam Key
Posted on 1/5/2025, 10:59:48 AM by ChicagoConservative27

Outgoing Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas said Sunday on ABC’s “This Week” that there had been a “significant increase” in the past 10 years of homegrown violent extremism.

Mayorkas said, “We have a heightened threat environment, as Director Wray and the attorney general both articulated, and we’ve been saying this for quite a number of months.

We have not only the persistent threat of foreign terrorism that, of course, created the Department of Homeland Security, but we have adverse nation-states, and for the past 10 years, we’ve seen a significant increase in what we term homegrown violent extremism.

It is a very difficult threat landscape and it is why that we as a community, not just the federal government, but state and local officials and residents, need to be alert to it and take the precautions necessary to avoid violence from occurring.”

I spent over 40 years working. None of the jobs I held COULD be done remotely. I had to be where the work was.

What a dumb-a$$!

Here in eastern Kansas we had 12-18 inches of snow and winds gusting up to 45 mph. Then the next night temps dropped to ten below. Everything is shut down. Churches, schools, banks.

“When the blizzard hits, why are we still commuting?”

Driving to/from work in Alaska for 20 years, I never asked myself that question. It was called “life”, and we weren’t pansies.

My Jeep and I “plowed” the way out of our subdivision after a blizzard. I didn’t have a plow. Neighbors waited for me to leave, and then they followed in my tracks.

Yes! They’re also thinking of naming rainstorms! When the new AI quantum computers are perfected they are going to name individual raindrops and snowflakes!

"When the blizzard hits, why are we still commuting?"

To be sung to the tune of Led Zeppelin's "If it keeps on raining, the levee's going to fall."
