One can go to the National Weather Service website and get wind forecasts for the US and adjacent waters. Eastern offshore US winds are too variable both in intensity and location to be economically viable.

Tapping the Gulf Stream might be practical.

The government of the State of New York is planning on using Canadian hydropower, but the Canadians might want to use it instead.

Bro youre obsessed with New York, wow! :)

You should move here, stop hiding your sevcret love affair!

Staten Island housing prices are pretty good and you can go to Manhattan every day...but it sounds from what I’ve seen that Manhattan TERRIFIES a lot of folks here.

I’ve been going in and out for 38 years and I’m still kicking though :)

ciao and have a good one! :)

[[where regular wind/sun droughts cause huge electricity price spikes]]

And that is exactly their goal... ka’ching! They weren’t getting enough $$ from steady prices so they anticipated a volatile system that will raise prices every time there’s a wind and solar deficit.

Gee, won’t the rolling blackouts that happen weekly be great?

The Global Warming hoax is going to cost trillions of dollars. And kill millions of people. Our civilization suffers from suicidal empathy.

“Clean Path transmission line. This is a proposed 175-mile high-capacity (4 GW) transmission line to bring to New York City and the downstate region power generated at various new “renewable” (wind and solar) facilities being developed in the northern and western parts of the state. The stated cost of this major project was to be $11 billion.”

Solar panel placement in say SE Virginia or eastern North Carolina to generate electricity for transmission to metro NYC might be practical.

Another possibility is solar panel placement in Florida to make liquid hydrogen to run power plants in New York.

The 100% zealotry of Biden and New York government is absurd.

Perhaps school scheduling in the northeastern US should attempt to reduce summer CO2 emissions. School vacations might be in the spring and early fall. Only a small percentage of New Yorkers do farm work.

“ka’ching!”

There have been two Texas-sized rip-offs.

I understand they are about $20 billion each.

The upper electric price limit of ERCOT is absurdly high.

Texans should be told to unplug their water heaters or the utilities should install cutoff devices.

Plug Power, reported as its results for the third quarter of 2024 a loss of $211 million

New York's Green energy "solyndra". They keep giving the company billions and the company keeps losing money.

Wonder why Canadian hydropower is OK, but US hydropower is not OK? Rivers run 24/7 and their energy flow is very accurately predictable.

If only New York had a couple of nuclear reactors to produce cheap, clean energy. Oh wait, they had that then killed off the reactors, which had high decommissioning costs which were then passed onto customers.

Summer CO2 emissions would be the emissions most likely to melt polar ice.
