The human ability to walk and run efficiently on two feet arose around 2 million years ago with our Homo erectus ancestors. But our earlier relatives, the australopithecines, were also bipedal around 4 million years ago. Given the long arms and different body proportions of species like Australopithecus afarensis, though, researchers have assumed that australopithecines were less capable of walking on two legs than modern humans.
In a study published online Dec. 18 in the journal Current Biology, a team of researchers modeled the skeletal and muscular anatomy of Lucy to determine her maximum running speed, the energetic costs associated with running, and her running endurance.

Australopithecines like Lucy had large upper bodies, long arms and short legs, which likely limited their running speed. But the researchers discovered that another potential reason for Lucy's slow, inefficient running may have been a differently shaped Achilles tendon and triceps surae, a group of muscles in the calf.
Modern humans have a long, spring-like Achilles tendon, the researchers noted, which connects calf and ankle muscles to the heel bone. This anatomical arrangement provides humans with the powerful and efficient ankle crucial to high running performance.

Looks like he did time in prison.
“Except the species Lucy was from was bipedal.”
So they claim. For decades all T-Rex skeletons had them standing upright and dragging their tails.
They found bones scattered over a very broad area, lumped them together and called them "Lucy"... these included various bones and a jaw... No proof that they are all even from the same animal/person/thing. But hey - it fits a narrative. But regardless - there are NOT enough bones here, even if we assume they are from one individual specimen, to recreate what they are claiming.
Here is the grand total of bones found (and again, no evidence they are from ONE individual):
Yes he does. Here is a pic of his lawyer. Check out the eyes, very human due to the scores showing. Japanese women find him 'sexy.'
Meant ‘sclera’ not score. It is the white of the eye which typically in great apes is not visible.
Yes. Lots of bones were found in the area. It was a treasure trove of fossils because in that area because that’s where they lived and the conditions were right for decent preservation.
Fossils were found ranging in age from 2 to up to over 3 million years old.
The incredulity on sites like this usually sound like yours where the motives of the researchers is questioned as if they are attempting to deceive everyone.
While some people are deceptive in every walk of life, the evidence is overwhelming. You’re unwillingness to accept it does not matter.
And lol at me being obstinate.
So they claim?
You have more accurate research to share?
She ran like a girl?
“That is just normal, chimp muscle mass.“
Which is actually much stronger than human muscle tissue pound for pound. Higher “twitch” or some such thing. Which means that a fairly stringy armed chimp could still throw a man around fairly easily. The one in the pic could yank off a man’s arm as an after thought.
As long as she could outrun Mr. Lucy and those who came after, she was in store for a long life.
Yeah... they found one jawbone for “Lucy”. The rest was assembled from a few bone bits here and there they found near there. Abd by near I mean with a few miles.
‘ Abd by near I mean with a few miles.’
You are completely full of sh@t.
Enter topic at own risk. Flame festival.
No, I believe in evolution. But it happened in different places at different times, and Europeans and Asians are not descended from "Lucy."
There is no such thing as a transitional form, link, whatever.
This has been beat on here on FR in the past (quite a few years ago). The facts haven’t changed. https://freerepublic.com/focus/f-backroom/1651429/posts
