Mean joke to play on a child.
The Charlotte Hornets organization is valued at est. $1.7B.
To: DFG
Why is a child at an NBA event in the first place?
Not a wholesome environment for young skulls full of mush.

Ok, I would like to know, just where in their decision matrix was this ever a good idea?
It is not that this was something with good intentions that turned out wrong, I think everybody understands those but that this had absolutely no way of ever going right.

And how many employees were fired for being idiots? It ought to be several.

    The kid wasn’t “color coded”
Imagine pulling that crap on a black kid.

He has it taken away and he had to watch a Hornets game? That’s cruel.

I remember the steep decline of the NBA in the 1970s and the bump after Larry Bird, MJ and Magic Johnson.
Same structural problems exist though. I agree it’s no place for a kid at the present time.

The NBA is on a downward spiral now. Everyone I know says its more and more boring. Watching teams do nothing more than shoot 3 pointers all game long gets boring.

Okay. If, in the original skit, the kid wasn’t supposed to take home a PS5…
…who was?
—
Part of me can actually understand why they wouldn’t let a kid walk off the court that night with a PS5. Because, these days, I wouldn’t be surprised if we also read about a grinch taking it from the kid as they walked out to the parking lot.
In that case present the gift, let the cheerleader take it away after the ceremony (everyone knowing it will be returned), have a pair of representatives from the team’s office arrange to deliver the goodies at the fans’ home afterwards.

And we pay for their stadiums and arenas.

They can’t afford the price of a seat to make a kid happy? WITAF?

To: Responsibility2nd
    Are you being serious?
It’s a sports game :)
I HATE the sports, but that’s all it is.
But it was a VERY CRUEL thing to do

It is not exactly like they took the kid to a strip club.
You may not approve but there is still nothing wrong with it.
