Scientists at Kumamoto University have unveiled a novel compound, HPH-15, which has dual effects: reducing blood glucose levels and combating fat accumulation. This breakthrough represents a significant advancement in diabetes treatment innovation.

Type 2 diabetes, a condition affecting millions worldwide, is often accompanied by complications such as fatty liver and insulin resistance, posing challenges for current treatment methods. The research team, led by Visiting Associate Professor Hiroshi Tateishi and Professor Eiichi Araki, has identified HPH-15 as a promising alternative to existing medications like metformin.

Interesting. I'm on 1000mg metformin twice a day!

Type 2 diabetes is inherited. But.... it's triggered by obesity, high calorie foods, and lack of physical activity. With exception to a few people who are fit, eat right, and exercise. They may have a mutation or environmental damage to their body's insulin cycle.

As a side note.. I just found out sugar breaks down to fructose and glucose when exposed to an acidic environment.So.. drinking those " real sugar " colas are not any better for you than HFC!!

Genetics and race are strong factors but the most likely reason it is increasing is that those that are most susceptible, those with a family history, are developing it for lifestyle reasons.

There are lots of people quick to condemn and judge others for something they actually know little or noting about and expect them to do something they have never tried or experience. I hope nothing bad ever happens to them. I have a brother who was quick to be critical of our parents when they got old. I hope I live to see him in the same condition and struggling through every day.

And, “diet” doesn’t mean cutting calories, etc. ... it means eating nourishing, and, healthy foods.

Yes:

From the same geniuses who don’t understand anything whatsoever about the gut, you can now take a pill to further frack up your endocrine system with unknown long-term effects and/or permanent damage.

OR

You can reverse the T2 diabetes naturally.

Choose, but don’t expect that I/we should pay for it in any way, shape or form if the prior.

There’s a reason for that, but I can’t elaborate.

No grains or sugar for us.

Whole grains high in fiber and protein need to be distinguished from products that use refined grains. E.g., white refined bleached flower (refined wheat) is metabolized differently from whole grain wheat products.

The following study touches on the difference between whole grain vs refined grain products as they relate to glucose control: https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0002916522029732

The article concludes: "Compared with white rice, whole-grain rice significantly attenuates the postprandial blood glucose response."

We avoid all grains.

Ever since BigAg took over their production, they haven’t been the same.

The majority of today’s grains are NOT the grains our ancestors were nourished by :-(

I need a diet to put 15 pounds back on. My weight has fallen from 175 to 145 in the past few months. No real explanation for the weight loss. Thankfully, only two polyps from last week’s colonoscopy. and blood sugar headed in the right direction.

For the elderly, underweight is far more dangerous than overweight.
