Collins-Black has been a lifelong fantasy enthusiast, immersing himself in games and mythical adventures such as Dungeons & Dragons since childhood.
By 2015, the successful musician and entrepreneur was looking for a change of pace and envisioned a project that would help him reconnect with his younger imagination.
Motivated by Forrest Fenn's infamous treasure hunt launched back in 2010, Collins-Black dreamed of creating something more personal and accessible. Instead of Fenn's single chest hidden in the Rocky Mountains, Collins-Black envisioned multiple troves allowing every person across the country the opportunity to be in closer proximity to one of the chests.
"I wanted to have the chests spread out to give people the optimistic, adventurous possibility," he said.
With a creative background in writing, from poetry to children's book publishing, Collins-Black combined his skills to produce "There's Treasure Inside," aimed to entertain even those who do not plan to look for the treasure.

While getting together some stuff for the coming week and trying to sort out which one would cap off this week's Digest, I saw this related link in a story and knew it was the winner. :^)
Anyone else remember the Canadian Club treasure hunt advertised in the men's magazines of the 1960s and early 1970s?
The other GGG topics added since the previous digest ping, alpha:
Good idea to sell a book.
Looks like the hunt for the hidden Canadian Club goes on, the least this mew treasure hunter guy could do is put an Applebee’s coupon in each copy.

I was just thinking the same thing.
There was an episode of the original Magnum PI - The Treasure of Kalaniopu’u - with the same plot.
Upcoming topics pool, thus far:
Sounds like the guy’s Nigerian.
My idea-plant a small canister full of gold somewhere. Pay welfare recipients the minimum wage to go digging for it. Winner keeps it. They’ll be too tired at the end of the day to cause trouble on the subway.
In these days of struggle, you have to have the money to buy the book and take time off work to travel with extra money for transportation, hotels, eating out and tools/supplies. Probably must be young and physically fit to climb to the top of Mount Kilimanjaro and dive to a shipwreck since there’s pirate treasure listed. Well, as they say, you gotta have money to make money. Count me out.
He could really spice it up with some Santo Gold in those chests...

For those who don’t get the reference, Santo Gold is next-level ‘80’s kitsch so bizarre as to be almost unbelievable.
The mastermind behind the Santo Gold concept (shown singing in the second video) was convicted of fraud and spent about a year in prison. This was for a ponzi scheme he developed in the mid 1980’s related to the vending of 24K gold electroplated jewelry and chains.
His other venture was a self-produced film with a plot based around professional wrestling and outer space bad guys, which he billed as a horror comedy. The film was of course awful but did play in a few theaters.
Where it gets crazy is that he would intermingle his marketing for both projects in late-night infomercials which aired between 1985 and 1987 and are now notorious. The shows would start as an ad for cheapo gold chains but would morph into a trailer for this wrestling horror film and then back again, with only the flimsiest of segues connecting them. You really just have to see it to believe it.
That’s a big boo-hoo. Maybe they should continue to buy scratchoff tickets instead?
The hardcover edition is the only one thus far and runs about $45, or between 4 and 8 packs of cigarettes.
