Archaeologists have unearthed a sarcophagus during ongoing excavation work at the St. Nicholas Church in Demre, Antalya, shedding light on the ancient past of the historical site.

The church, believed to be located near the burial place of St. Nicholas, the Bishop of Myra and the inspiration for the modern-day Santa Claus, has been a site of important archaeological findings for years.

The discovery was made in the church’s two-story annex, which has been under excavation since 1989.

This can’t be true because Santa still goes around on Christmas eve.

The Mad Greek restaurant in Baker, Calif. displays a list of famous Greeks ranging from Homer and Plato to Aristotle Onassis and Melina Mercouri. Santa also made the list.

According to tradition, St. Nicholas' remains were moved to Bari, Italy to protect his remains from being desecrated by the invading Muslims (as were their habit, peace be unto them and their pedo-profit). Then after that, again according to tradition, pieces of his remains were scattered to different churches here and there so everybody could have a piece of him.

Maybe that's how he gets around the world so fast on Christmas Eve. He's already spread out across the world. LOL

Fun fact about the real St. Nicholas.

He used to secretly fill small bags with coins and toss them into open windows of poor people at night as a charity.

Santa’s bag of gifts.

RE so everybody could have a piece of him.

Sort of like good guys in martial arts movies challenging the thugs to fight.
“Anybody here want a piece of me? C’mon.”
