Illegal Border Crossings:
Fiscal Year 2024: U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) recorded approximately 2.1 million encounters at the U.S.-Mexico border. This is a 14% decrease from the 2.5 million encounters in FY 2023. However, the total encounters for the year ending in September 2024 were reported as 2.9 million nationwide, including both between ports of entry and at ports of entry.
Parole Program Fly-ins:
Through the CHNV (Cuba, Haiti, Nicaragua, Venezuela) parole program, approximately 531,670 migrants have flown into the U.S. and been paroled into the country. Additionally, through the CBP One app, which schedules appointments at ports of entry, around 813,000 migrants have been processed.
Combined Total from Parole Programs:

I’ve worked in the oil industry for over 30 years and you know what? The entire nation squalls and bawls wanting their cheap foreign oil without a care in the world for the lost earnings potential of THOUSANDS of workers in the domestic oil industry. (Not to mention all the foreigners taking OUR jobs, in higher numbers than H1B ever did).
Yet, the industry keeps going and doing the best we can and not once did we compare any hard worker to rapists and robbers and murderers…it’s just the kind of good folks we are.

Yes, I'm aware of the boom and bust cycles in the oil and gas industry.
I was processing seismic data during the bust cycle of 1986-87.
Guys were getting laid off by the gazillions. Usually, they had divorce papers waiting, from their gold-digging wives, before they could even get home.
The workers were good guys ... and so were the wives, until the gravy train ended.

And witness the lack of ruptures, fires, explosions and general mayhem in the industry.
