A Tennessee man is grieving the deaths of his seven dogs who were shot and killed by a sheriff’s deputy while the owner and his wife were out to dinner.
On Monday, Nov. 4, Kevin Dismuke and his wife left their home in McNairy County to go to dinner, Fox 13 reports.
When his wife returned to their home on Finger Leapwood Road, she called him with shocking news.
“She said, ‘Poe is dead,’” he said, referring to one of their pet dogs.
According to News 3, Dismuke said he returned home to find all of his dogs except one were dead.
“They were told the property was abandoned and the dogs were malnourished,” Dismuke added, News 3 reports. “I got the veterinary paperwork in my truck from three weeks ago. They all had a clean bill of health on them.”
Dismuke said a neighbor told him a deputy came to his house while he was gone and shot the dogs, Fox 13 reports.
Dismuke and his family are heartbroken over the deaths of their beloved dogs.
“I don’t care if you give me $10 if you give me $10 million," he told News 3. "You can’t replace my dogs.”
According to the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, which launched an investigation on Nov. 7, the incident began when the McNairy County Sheriff’s Department received an animal welfare concern call on Nov. 4.

I can’t read the story; the title is too disturbing. But judging by the title I have to say that when we moved to TN, the way people treat pets and animals is one of the most awful things we noticed.
We rescued eight of them, but you can’t take them all.
“Were they secure behind a fence or in the house?
Were they out roaming the streets?”
if you had bothered to read the article, you would know that the dogs were housed in campers and that the deputy first shot into the campers to kill the dogs, and then entered the campers to shoot some more to “clear” them ...
I am not anti-cop, but truth is, there is almost no situation that can’t be made worse with the addition of police.

Swap “police” with “government”.
Who reads articles?
All the relevant info should be in the excerpt.
Agree on both, since police are AGENTS of the GOVERNMENT!
I don’t think animal welfare check means what officer Roscoe thinks it means. 🤔
If those dogs had belonged to John Wick that deputy would be in a big world of hurt.
You can't murder dogs. You can wrongfully kill them, like what happened here, but it isn't murder.
Murder is a term reserved solely for humans, a.k.a. homicide.
First they came for P’nut and we didn’t do anything ....
Questions were answered in the article.
this guy methodically went about what he was doing shooting one by one.

In a truly civilized society the dude who did that would be paying for it for the rest of his life, physically, mentally, and financially. IOWs, he wouldn’t lose his life, but for the rest of it he would be regretting what he did EVERY WAKING MOMENT!
People with unanswered questions.
I can’t imagine coming home and seeing all 7 of your dogs dead. That pain must be beyond belief.

People have lost their lives for doing less, that’s for sure.
Those dogs are being mistreated, I’d better shoot them all.
“I’m from the government and I’m here to help you.”
Or maybe he was attacked. We need to hear the deputy's side of the story.
There’s too many unanswered questions.

If you have difficulty with reading comprehension, find someone to explain the facts to you.
OK HE KILLED THE DOGS .
Your response, “that’s OK”
OK HE KILLED THE DOGS .
Your response, “that’s OK” he didn’t murder them
Now you have answers but I am sure you will find something good to about the guy who trespassed on private property with no warrant and shot the animals that were on their own property where they belonged. Because he wore the magic blue uniform.

Excellent post from start to finish. Responsibility2nd sounds like he might be related to the killer!
