The biggest fight of the year is Friday in North Texas, and here’s everything you need to know.
On November 15, the legendary boxer Mike Tyson will enter the ring to face off with social media star and entrepreneur Jake Paul here in North Texas.
The match was supposed to take place on July 20 but was postponed following an injury sustained by Tyson. As a result, the fight was pushed to November.
Where is the fight taking place?
The Paul-Tyson fight is taking place at the 80,000-seat AT&T Stadium in Arlington. As previously reported by The Dallas Express, the State of Texas and the City of Arlington committed to paying at least $1.8 million to help bring the massive event to the City.
What time does the fight start?
The event will be streamed live on Netflix starting at 7 p.m. CT. Tyson and Paul are expected to begin their ring walk around 9 p.m. CT, though the time can vary depending on how long the preceding fights last.
Who will win?
That is the million-dollar question. Tyson is 58, while Paul is less than half his age at 27. Tyson was a feared fighter in his prime, but Paul is an impressive up-and-coming contender with much to prove. As of November 13, BetMGM had the following odds on the fight:
Paul win: -175
Tyson win: +180
Tie: +900
Who else is fighting?
In addition to the heavyweight bout between Tyson and Paul, Netflix will stream six other matches throughout the evening:
Super Lightweight (Taylor’s IBF, WBA, WBC, and WBO women’s super-lightweight titles): Katie Taylor vs. Amanda Serrano
Welterweight (Barrios’ WBC welterweight title): Mario Barrios vs. Abel Ramos
Super Middleweight: Neeraj Goyat vs. Whindersson Nunes
Super Middleweight (vacant women’s WBO super middleweight title): Shadasia Green vs. Melinda Watpool
Super Lightweight: Lucas Bahdi vs. Armando Casamonica
Featherweight: Bruce Carrington vs. Dana Coolwell
After he gets knocked out by Tyson, maybe Paul can get a fight with George Foreman. I wonder how hard George can punch at 75.
Tyson in 55 seconds.
“The biggest fight of the year is Friday in North Texas”
Arlington is in Northeast Texas. North Texas is to us really North of the Red River. We call it the Panhandle. The top of Texas is about 200 miles North of Arlington, Texas.
Well we know who the Democrats are cheering for then. Don’t we? They love death. And vasectomies. Smh
><
Plenty of conservatives have had vasectomies. Including me.
Me too. Dirty little secret. I saw both of my children take their first breath, as my wife’s organs were piled on her abdomen. I suppose my faux pas was directed at the males that choose castration for a frivolous reason. Please forgive my insensitivity.
Is there a way to listen to this fight? Don’t have nor want Netflix.
I have no idea who will win, but I’ll keep tabs on the thread for somewhat up-to-date information.
BFLR
Tyson in the first. This one will make him 51-6 with 23 first round KOs.
It’s his overhand right that’s scary.
I’m rooting for both. They’re MAGA and voted for Trump.
Interesting comment. You are correct.
I was born and raised in Texas. In my 72 years it has never come up. Never cared to visit it. It’s like it doesn’t even exist yet there it is. The northernmost part of texas with places like Amarillo that i’ll never see.
I had to pull up a map to see what’s there. :-). Thanks.
Don’t let Mike bite your ear!
I think Paul just scores more. Hit and run, hit and run. It would be suicide to take on Tyson’s power and chin up close.
If you haven’t watched the Foreman / Morrison fight it is very good (on YouTube in full) if you’re a boxing fan. That’s exactly what Morrison did. Hit, run, score. Foreman was a bulldozer and just plowed in to him. nothing Morrison threw at him hurt him. But he scored with his speed. Big George just kept coming back at him and blocked off his retreats and just took it all and got in some massive blows. A great fight and they were both very cordial and really respected each other before and after. Class acts despite Morrison’s troubled rise to fame, bad choices, and the management he had that ruined him.
I suspect it will be the same for Tyson but without the class George Foreman has. He is a damaged human physically and personally but seems to be making some good choices as best he can.
My bet... All rounds but the second and third won by Paul by points and goes the whole way. Unanimous win by Paul.
Who is Jake Paul? ... and why should I care?
“I wonder how hard George can punch at 75.”
George Forman would hit Jake Paul so hard his grandkids would limp!
Tyson is just plain mean and hits like a wrecking ball. He’s a monster. Paul hadn’t faced anything like this. Don’t forget, Tyson can get a ring off with the best of them. Tyson by KO in the second.
Paul gets the decision. They both lose if you’re considering their reputations. Both win if you’re considering their payday.
I am surprised that Mike Tyson lost so bad. When the bout was finished, Mike looked winded. And Jake Paul, not at all.
Tyson winded due to so much marijuana smoking? Tyson has a very successful legal California marijuana business. Including vapes and edibles. I have seen his discarded vapes (hemp oil?) in my local park.
