The obvious observation would be to say that if you did nothing wrong, you have nothing to worry about.

...but the lefty/democrat retort would be to claim that Trump is an obvious fascist and he is going to persecute everyone he disagrees with...

What they wont do is admit that they set the precedent about using lawfare to persecute their political rivals, and they somehow figured they would always be protected, and the tables would not turn.

NOBODY IS ABOVE THE LAW, and if you didn’t do anything wrong, you have nothing to worry about, right?

Regards those prosecuted for J6 which are bogus cases (a few are legit):

—Anyone involved in a decision making capacity (senior level) should be dismissed, at a minimum.

—Anyone involved even at a lower level should be counseled, publically repremanded/time off without pay (monthly OPM message to all employees) and have a perminement record for misconduct added to their file.

There should be (((no tolerance))) for those in the DOJ that are involved in gross violations of citizens civil rights.

This is a no-brainer and those at the top which played along with this “political purge” have no buisness in the positions they are in.

"Even rank-and-file prosecutors involved in high-profile January 6 cases appear distraught at the possibility they might be held accountable for their conduct."

Why would one be distraught at being held to account for their conduct?
Or was the operating assumption they wouldn't be held accountable?

You mean abusing your power is against the law? Who would have thought. Wray needs to resign yesterday.

Abuse of power by government officials should always be heavily punished. Otherwise, they will quickly forget that they are public servants and not our overlords.

They started this fight, so I'm not feeling sorry for them.

I don't want our side to fall into the same lawfare abuse of power that the current DOJ exercised but go after the abusers using legitimate doctrines of justice.

‘general sense of depression’ among attorneys who worked on legal cases that some Republican lawmakers have spoken out against, saying those attorneys are concerned their years of work will be ‘flushed down the drain.’”

Flush the attorneys along with their work.

The J6 DOJ lawyers intimidated protestors to plead guilty or face 20 years sentences under the misused Enron law. Judges coerced protesters to confess to crimes they didn’t commit. Both acts are criminal judicial misconduct. DC federal attorney Michael Graves is the worst offender. If anyone in the DC judicial system has a conscience it’s guilty.

In most criminal prosecutions, a plea deal is offered up by the prosecutor.

I suspect most J6ers were not offered reasonable plea deals.

Prosecutors should be required to justify their offers to J6ers. If they can’t do so, or fail to apologize for their prosecutorial misconduct, out the door they should go.

It all sounds good but don’t forget the DC judges.

And what are we going to do about the DC jury pool?

The judges and prosecutors should be more worried.

Years in prison for trespassing?

No due process?

They should be VERY afraid.
