Do you guys happen to know the latest most up to date Windows 7 version of the web browser Brave?
We are currently using Version 1.47.186.
Thank you!!!
If I were you, I’d upgrade my OS.
Ping-a-rama!.................
I am in the same boat, with same version of Brave - no longer updates in Win 7. I have not decided to update to Win11. Meanwhile, for some websites, I have had to revert, for those websites, to using Firefox, which does do its latest updates to Win7 machines.
If I was really “brave” I’d shift altogether to Linux, to the latest Brave and to Office Libre; quiting MS altogether.
That’s the last version Windows 7 can use. Anything after that you need Windows 10 or higher. It sucks, I know, because I use Brave on Windows 7 as well.
I doubt very much that Brave is still releasing for Windows 7. Frankly if they are, they should be ashamed of themselves. Windows 7 should NEVER be used for web activities, even with Brave as the browser.
That said, I'll ping the WindowsPingList folks for you, but really, at least get a copy of Win10, and reserve your Win7 for strictly offline activities.
Should have just stayed with DOS 6.2...
I need to upgrade my Intertec SuperBrain with my CP/M OS.
Brave is so upset that I won’t upgrade from Win7 on this computer that they refuse to show me ads.
I figure at this point there is no point in upgrading to Win10.
And like another poster said, I only have one of my 4 computers that will run Win11 (although I know I can get software from a Russian hacker that will let me run it on one non-conforming laptop.
I see we are using the same version.
FWIW...
My Win11 Brave version:
Brave is up to date
Version 1.73.89 Chromium: 131.0.6778.69 (Official Build) (64-bit)
BKMRK.
Brave Browser (Windows OS) Version 1.47.186, was the last version that supports Windows 7.
The next Brave Browser (Windows OS) version, was 1.48.158:
https://github.com/brave/brave-browser/releases/tag/v1.48.158
Meanwhile, if you continue to run Brave Browser (Windows OS) Version 1.47.186, there are some background updating of Brave Browser components, that continues. But over time, Brave Browser will lose performance.
You can buy a used pc for cheap that works like new and will be faster then your current one.
I own this model and paid $135 in February 2023. Built in July 2018.
Mine came with a 1TB Samsung SSD instead of 500mb one as advertised. Not even a scratch. You can easily upgrade the RAM and hard drive and graphics card if needed.
Review: The cost was $3,265 back in 2018!!
