This Is All Biden’s Fault

Kamala Harris lost the election this week, but I mostly don’t blame her. At least, I don’t blame her because of anything she did recently. Since she became the unofficial nominee in July, she played a difficult hand about as well as she could have, running a disciplined campaign that sought to reassure Americans about the economic issues that trouble them most, in a political environment that was very rough for Democrats and for incumbent parties around the world.

But where did that bad hand come from? It was dealt to her by two people: President Biden, who produced a governing record she could not effectively defend or run away from; and herself, with all the toxic position-taking she did in 2019, generating endless attack ad fodder for Donald Trump. And Mr. Biden even bears blame for Ms. Harris’s pre-2020 baggage, since he put her on the ticket in full awareness that she was carrying it.

In his own campaign rhetoric, Mr. Biden focused on the idea that democracy itself was on the ballot this year. But if democracy was on the ballot, his actions should have matched his rhetoric at every turn to ensure Democrats would win the election. Instead, he prioritized his own ego and profile.

His electoral instincts weren’t always so misguided. During the 2020 primary campaign, Mr. Biden seemed to understand that the left-wing fever dreams that drove that Democratic cycle were electorally hazardous. So, unlike Ms. Harris, he never pledged to ban fracking or abolish private health insurance. He never even filled out the A.C.L.U. questionnaire that prompted Ms. Harris to support federally funded gender-transition surgery for prisoners and detained immigrants.

After winning the nomination, Mr. Biden made his first big mistake that would set Democrats on a path with no route to win the...

If the MSM did their job then Biden would have been fully exposed in the media as having dementia and Biden would not have been able to run for reelection.

So it is the NY Times’ fault among others.

She ran a HORRIBLE campaign, refusing, or unable, to answer basic questions, and falling back on Orange man bad, and worse. When I hear talking heads claim “she ran a flawless campaign”, I wonder who are they talking about? But, yes, it is on Biden that she was the candidate at all, and I think he (and Dr. Jill) did it as a dirty trick to get back at Nancy, et al. But she was a lousy candidate, and that would have been true even if she had been one legitimately.

Yeah this is been the funniest election campaign in my life and I am 60. No one has ever connected with average voters the way Trump did.

Biden can’t match his own socks.

It’s the Democrat Party’s fault. Along with their enablers in media, the arts, the elites, the deep state, etc.

The mass media all knew Biden was non compos mentis for years—and they lied about it.

They need to own it.

Yea.
As far as they are concerned, it can’t possibly be the people don’t like how they Govern.
They just needed to spin more lies.

I don’t get the “she played a difficult hand about as well as she could have”, when she’s the person who said “nothing comes to mind” when asked if she would do anything different from Biden.

Biden sucked, but she sucked too.

Lol she was the worst Presidential candidate ever. The Alt Left cult is in such a total state of denial. She was terrible, yet here are these repeated attempts to create a “tragic heroine” mythology about her.

“Fault”?

Why does the self-described “newspaper of record” see fault? I thought the press was professional and unbiased. As such they could ask why Harris lost, or why Trump won. Instead, they act as though something bad happened and they must find fault. The people have spoken. Democracy wins. There is no fault.

Kamala is unqualified and the voters saw that. Blame Joe for picking her.

Biden never even filled out the treacherous A.C.L.U. questionnaire that trapped Ms. Harris into supporting tax-funded gender-transition surgery for prisoners and detained immigrants.....which proved to be a monumental loser.......and starkly called into question Harris’ political judgement.

“If the media did their job, Biden would have gotten exposed earlier so they would be forced to hold an actual primary. And someone else would have emerged.”

The media did do its job. To wit, the bidding of the DNC.

It is the NY Times style guide. First mention as “President,” then “Mr.” thereafter.

Yep! I keep seeing lefties walking on eggshells when it comes to casting blame for this fiasco, for they know the race card/gender card (etc) weapons will be turned against them if they aren't careful. Writing "Kamala was an awful candidate whose only talent is reading scripts, acting outraged, and ticking off all the right boxes for the wokesters out there" would be a career ender. So they have to direct blame at the old white guy, which is always a safe way to go. And why not go there? They've already stabbed him in the back once. So they might as well keep doing it i suppose.

Kamala excuse 1: She didn't have enough time!
Fact check: If anything it was too long. Dems hoped the Honeymoon period would last at least until early voting got underway, but when it didn't they panicked for they realized they'd have to put her out there more and do some interviews as well. All of which is certainly a good reason to panic.

Kamala excuse 2: She lost because of racists and misogynists!
Fact check: Obama won twice, so that precludes racism and in today's Break The Glass Ceiling craze having the chance to be the first woman president is almost certainly a much bigger plus than a negative. But for fun let's say she did lose because of misogynists and sexists. Then what does that say about the Democrat party since she first person OUT during the 2020 primaries? For shame Democrats. For shame.

I’ve noticed that too: no one is taking any personal responsibility for their defeat. A seminal moment in my life was when I flunked my first evaluation as a Platoon Leader. In the Leader’s Handbook, a leader is responsible for everything his unit does OR FAILS TO DO. It was humbling, but one of the greatest learning experiences of my life.

There are very few leaders in our government and the Democrats are the worst. I’m confident they have not learned their lessons.
