An incredible coincidence resulted in Desert Drifter and I standing atop a mysterious and gargantuan block of stone in the middle of a forest.
This thing had many secrets, but one stands out above all else. The history of this block, truly is puzzling.
Had I not seen it with my own two eyes, I might not have believed it was real.I found Colossal, Impossible Geometry with Desert Drifter | 36:52

Transcript 0:00 · earlier this summer I learned of the existence of an immensely large block of stone in a remote Forest that has such 0:07 · incredible symmetry it appears to be carved out of the earth nothing was known about it except that it was 0:14 · composed of limestone no one knew where it came from only three photographs existed on the internet that proved it 0:21 · wasn't a myth I couldn't stop wondering where did it come from did humans have 0:26 · any role in its creation what else is out here and if it truly was almost a 0:32 · perfect Cube as these pictures made it out to be so I devised a strategy on how 0:37 · to figure it out there was just one massive hole in my plans I needed to find a way to get 0:44 · onto the top of it in the weeks leading up to my departure I couldn't shake the feeling that something was missing and 0:51 · there might be someone else who knows about it so I called up Andrew AKA 0:58 · desert Drifter it just so happened that he not only knew about it but was 1:03 · planning on trying to climb up it the very same week what we found here went 1:09 · far deeper than a strangely shaped rock it is a mystery that extends beneath the Earth and far back into 1:17 · history but there was something I only noticed long after we left this place 1:23 · that revealed a crucially important detail that we somehow overlooked even though it was right under our feet F 1:30 · feet one single drone shot changed my entire perspective on this object and 1:36 · has left me wondering ever sense how was this 1:54 · possible so this is how we're going to get on top of this giant Cube 2:01 · we've got desert Drifter and Evelyn here yeah it's kind of crazy how serendipitously it all came 2:13 · about we see the Wild Desert Drifter many times lonely Wanderers have 2:21 · mistaken him for the Sasquatch 2:54 · we are starting to see this layer of limestone we got the whole boy going on 3:01 · look at this fossil that we just 3:08 · found wow it's an ammonite I'm pretty 3:20 · sure so we are currently 3:27 · listening is a big that is the corner of the cube and at the top of the hill 3:34 · we're hearing these elk Andrew's going to try to sneak up and get close 3:49 · [Music] 4:01 · [Music] 4:06 · [Music] see it just past that tree 4:12 · there what the 4:27 · heck look at this thing 4:43 · wow this is 4:55 · massive it's a huge chunk of limestone 5:11 · oh yeah I see bolts right there yeah there's a bunch so one of the features 5:16 · of this rock that caught my eye are these eroded 5:22 · lines and you can see a couple more up there 5:49 · okay the more colorful it is the safer totally it's a pretty epic route up the 5:57 · corner what would you rate this at it's hard to say 58 59 maybe yeah it's 6:04 · hard to say till you're really on it it's going salt blink yes sir okay let's 6:09 · do it see you tuy this rock is a little crumbly here 6:17 · oo heads up Rock 6:41 · ohy did you want to get the Drone in yeah bu two 6:46 · seconds all right 6:53 · [Music] 7:04 · [Music] 7:23 · clipping woo yeah wow this is awesome look at this 7:32 · thing 7:45 · insane C it's quite impressive 8:01 · H these nuts need to be tightened the bolts itself are a little bit 8:19 · [Music] 8:28 · sus all 8:38 · all 8:49 · right here's Nolan about to top out Evelyn and tuille are hanging out down 8:55 · there 9:05 · woohoo let's go wow that was fun thanks 9:28 · Evelyn for 10:34 · and you through two hard points Evelyn 10:57 · yeah this side the cube and then the opposite side of the cube have a very 11:03 · rough sort of unrefined look when you get to the top here it's pretty darn 11:10 · smooth and this side right here the overhanging ledge 11:16 · pretty pretty smooth as well and has a bit more of a black varnish on 11:23 · it we have brought a 100ft tape measure to measure the top Evelyn 11:30 · s this side careful on the edge right mhm so if this Cube turns out to have 11:37 · four equidistant 11:44 · sides all right 50 ft on the money W yeah 50 ft 11:51 · exactly 50 ft on the money look at that wow he's got a Big Tuna 12:04 · 41 ft and 8 in h so not perfectly 12:10 · cubular bummer I got excited there for a 12:16 · second 54 right there 12:21 · 54 40 5 and 1/2 ft what do we conclude from 12:27 · this were pretty close to making it a and 12:33 · then they got tired okay so its dimensions are 50 ft by 42 ft by 54 ft by 45.5 ft flying the 12:43 · Drone from the base to the top I assess that it's about 60 ft tall this is when it becomes apparent 12:51 · that this object is not like a cube whatsoever it is much closer to a 12:56 · rectangular Leaning Tower the weight of Dolomite Limestone per cubic foot is about 170 13:03 · lb which means this thing roughly weighs about 23 million lb 11,500 tons or 13:12 · 10,433 kg which is about the weight of a small cruise ship but what I still didn't 13:20 · understand is how a 23 million pound block of stone came to exist in the middle of a forest 0 de perfect y 13:30 · angle measure there's a lot of different angles on this Cliff but this one looks 13:37 · the nicest 13:44 · okay 92.9 de what does this mean wait try a little 13:51 · further closer to me science 13:59 · 80 he dropped it oh wow we're way 14:11 · off how uh holding 14:17 · onb okay clearly I was starting to feel a bit silly for trying to use such a tiny angle measure on such a gargantuan 14:25 · object ultimately I think it's pretty apparent that this is remarkably close to having 90° angles on many of the 14:33 · sides of 14:49 · it for example compare it to the right angle on your YouTube 14:55 · window it is important to note that while exceedingly rare it is possible for 90° angles to appear 15:02 · in nature this is most clearly demonstrated by pyite 15:08 · crystals and strangest of all wombat poop okay definitely not a perfect CU 15:15 · but still how crazy is 15:26 · that yeah yep that's 15:32 · cool see how you you feel it on your harness now yep so now you're you're Cruiser 15:50 · now couple hours later our mission is partially finished 16:01 · all right Nolan's going to go into this cave here some of the blocks I 16:08 · found they have a layer underneath cuz they don't actually fall flush with the ground so we're going to see how far it 16:14 · goes oh man yeah I got to go ahead first I think you have to no head 16:22 · lamp actually kind of opens up a lot 16:32 · whoa whoa what it's kind of like a cave or 16:40 · something no way yeah yeah well don't do it to we don't do it oh 16:48 · my whoa there's a lot of 16:55 · bugs a lot all right so that is the 17:03 · entrance this is the first chamber and right on top of us is the entire 17:11 · block look at 17:18 · that oh my God yeah well I'm not going in 17:25 · there hi buddy all right I'm coming back out I could easily go down into this 17:30 · thing but I oh my okay 17:37 · oh my okay what oh 17:42 · yeah what' you see I don't know but there's water down there and I heard a 17:49 · splash of water and then something moved Mountain line no I don't think so 17:56 · it's probably like a big gopher or something there were tons of like rat and mice 18:17 · droppings it's almost like what you would see people's flooring made out of it Lim 18:23 · [Music] Stone wow look at this all 18:29 · yeah it's weird weird 18:35 · rock looks like lizard scales cool 18:44 · rock Chasm that's 18:55 · cool it feels sketchy 19:00 · yeah there's barely anything supporting this giant block of Earth 19:07 · from falling down there's Fisher like that runs almost the entire way around 19:25 · it there's a very good chance it came from right here and you can kind of see a path of debris leading right down to 19:32 · where it would have [Music] rolled using Google Earth from before 19:40 · this trip I had spotted this Gap in the cliffs in a path of Destruction from 19:45 · above clearly it had rolled down these cliffs in what must have been an incredibly catastrophic event before 19:53 · coming to rest at the bottom 20:01 · I measured these Cliffs to be around 60 ft tall which also supported my belief that the block came from here but I was 20:09 · surprised to see that the cliffs had clearly rounded eroded edges in a far 20:16 · darker coloration nowhere on the Block even the 20:22 · underside looked anything like this 20:29 · the traditional geologic explanation for this type of erosional pattern is best described as the process of tensional 20:37 · fractures creating joint sets underneath this Hillside lays 20:43 · hundreds more of these rectangular blocks now imagine you were there to see 20:48 · this block come down the energy expended of a 23 million PB block of limestone 20:54 · falling 100 ft is over 3.12 billion jewles equivalent to roughly 746,000 lb 21:02 · of TNT it probably blasted away a large amount of the trees nearby with 21:08 · Limestone shrapnel and could have been heard for miles and miles in all 21:13 · directions this is also when I realized something about the way that it 21:18 · came to rest at the bottom is so truly remarkable it almost 21:24 · seems intentional 21:33 · [Music] 21:47 · directly due north is this way so imagine that right corner of the cube is 21:53 · facing directly due north when I said this I didn't even realize how true it was was every corner of this Cube was 22:01 · pointing in every one of the four cardinal directions almost perfectly and 22:07 · still that Revelation pales in comparison with what I realized about 22:12 · this structure long after we had all parted ways it does make you 22:18 · wonder so as we're standing here just looking out over this vast 22:23 · expanse you know this would be a pretty incredible place to drive Wild Wildlife 22:29 · through this Valley and these Cliffs create a natural barrier on these rocks some of the most 22:35 · incredible looking Moss we have ever seen it's like heads of broccoli down 22:43 · there there's a stacked K right here potentially where the sun's going to 22:49 · drop you see how there's kind of this like shallow indentation here the one of the 22:56 · other tribes that uh frequented this area a lot are the crow the crows in particular were known for making these 23:02 · fasting beds they called them so they would go on these Vision quests and they would build these small enclosures and 23:09 · then it was like just enough space for a man on a vision quest to lay down there 23:14 · and fast and he would often stay there until he had you know received whatever Vision um that he expected to 23:22 · receive this is obviously a natural indentation is this K just somebody 23:29 · thought you know hey I'm going to build it here it looks cool or is this a prehistoric can and this was sort of 23:37 · commemorating you know somebody's fasting bed here you know I don't know 23:42 · but that was something I thought of as well in addition to the the game drive line that you were talking about noan no 23:48 · matter what time you live as a human being you are going to look at something like this and being complete awe of it 23:54 · it kind of connects you with the human beings that may have been here for thousands of 24:01 · years wow this is a cool view of the here it actually looks like broccoli 24:07 · almost yeah it's exactly what Andrew said wow that's amazing I need to find 24:12 · out what species that 24:22 · is that is a statue a monolith 24:29 · dude there's like Edge over here oh my gosh this could definitely be like a 24:34 · camp spot it makes me 24:40 · wonder you know are there overhangs back there 24:50 · honly yeah 25:04 · a human life is but a blink of an eye compared with the eons in which these 25:10 · rocks will remain standing imagine you are an ancient human being that has lived a long life 25:17 · traversing across endless mountains and forests believing you had seen 25:23 · everything and then one day you walk into an open clear clearing and witness 25:30 · this sight before 25:36 · you how would you react to seeing something so immense and strange 25:43 · looking would you tell your friends and family about what you had found and maybe set up camp here would you try to 25:50 · find a way onto the top of it to gain a strategic position or would you celebrate its 25:57 · beauty its strangeness either way it would leave an impression on your mind 26:03 · the very same that I have felt that would remain long after you resumed your 26:09 · wandering to never find it 26:18 · again so I just keeping my eyes peeled we're kind of down in the bottom of the valley you know next to uh there's a 26:24 · little creek down here and I saw this it's actually just sitting on a rock and 26:30 · it's all fractured and broken but I mean there's clearly a worked edge here it's 26:36 · defin I mean there's no doubt about it you can see both both sides how it was sharpened now whether it was some kind 26:43 · of projectile point or a knife you know it's way too broken up to tell here's the other other side of it but yeah you 26:49 · know the tip would have come up here the base somewhere down there but you know 26:55 · just goes to show this Valley was I undoubtedly inhabited and you know 27:00 · probably the nomadic tribes came in and out of it came up here in the summertime and went down to lower elevations during 27:07 · the winter 27:36 · in 28:06 · actually brought my headlamp this time so I don't have any excuses as a reminder I am mildly claustrophobic I'd 28:27 · say there's just chasms in the ground 28:33 · here oh my gosh oh my gosh it just keeps 28:44 · going hey just trying to assess if there's 28:49 · anything living inside of here this 29:14 · oh my God it keeps going I just heard that rock fall so far 29:38 · I think I hear water down there so maybe it connects to a Cave 29:45 · System yeah I definitely hear water dripping 29:54 · [Music] 30:01 · but it looks like it gets pretty narrow so that's my excuse to turn 30:09 · around right here listen you can hear the 30:17 · water yeah time to get out 30:49 · this is a chir flake from when they would be creating an 30:56 · arrowhead and I've seen these a couple different spots around here leave them where they lie so really I do feel 31:04 · it strongly points towards this clearing being or a place of habitation for humans these rocks are amazing kind of 31:11 · look like uh oyster mushrooms 31:35 · that is wild I thought I had it figured out the 31:43 · process of the Block's violent fall to the Earth was the proverbial hand that sculpted 31:49 · it as it rolled down its outer softer layers of limestone were crushed 31:54 · fractured and then flung into the air by the rotation energy of the Rolling Block 32:00 · the amorphus larger block that started at the top lost its rounded outside 32:06 · layers during the violent tumble and only the newer smoother wider core of 32:11 · the block remained at the bottom of the cliff sort of like peeling an onion upon 32:16 · closer inspection its surface is quite bumpy which points against human 32:23 · design it was only a month later after having looked at these shots countless 32:30 · times sitting at my computer did I find a shot that I hadn't 32:35 · looked at I realized something and my mind was 32:41 · blown there was something off about the corner we had been so fixated on the 32:49 · appearance of a square at the top of the block that we had missed the forest through the 32:54 · trees the northeastern Corner was missing meaning at one point in the past 33:03 · the block would have been far more symmetrical like a perfect Cube but flat 33:09 · on one side almost outside of the realm of belief it was almost as if the lowest 33:17 · and nearest to the ground Corner had been cut away to create an easier way up 33:23 · we had been literally Standing On Top of the perfect symmetry we had been searching for and not even known 33:30 · it Andrew and I had been thinking about it all wrong we had not been standing on the top of 33:36 · it we had been standing on the side of it 34:10 · so there are currently wildfires everywhere Across the Western United States the sunsets when they're 34:17 · passing through a layer of smoke do turn out very beautiful 34:35 · all right good morning we have returned just as impressive as I 34:41 · remember the lighting has been a challenge when filming this the sides are pretty dark and the top of it is 34:48 · such a bright white color 35:06 · so when I first saw this Object online I 35:13 · thought I I came up with this theory that perhaps what monoliths 35:19 · are are a combination of natural and 35:25 · man-made perhaps nature did most of the work when it comes to sculpting and 35:31 · shaping the incredibly huge blocks but then what if humans found those 35:36 · blocks and were so struck by the Beauty and the Symmetry that they decided to go 35:41 · the extra step and continue shaping and enhancing that 35:47 · symmetry you know smoothing over those bumps and creating what ultimately looks 35:54 · like a perfect geometrically shaped object I don't think this is the case with this one I think this is a random 36:01 · chance creation somehow this thing did not break into a million pieces when it fell off the cliff somehow it landed 36:09 · just so perfectly and somehow through a bunch of luck this thing came to exist 36:16 · what do you think
Whatever it is, its continued existence is threatened by climate change.
One more.
“Hey, Billy, where did you leave your Colossal, Impossible Geometry Set?”
“Outside, mom. I don’t remember where, though.”
Fractured off the cliff onto the top of a glacier. Transported there unabraded and deposited by the glacier. We have some huge ones around here that had the same thing happen. But these must have been on the bottom of the glacier because they are abraded.
I say aliens! Possibly transported by Sasquatches!
Site of ancient Hollywood, I suppose. Last remaining block of HOLLYWOODLAND sign.
I hate it when they’re abraded. Resale value goes way down on them.
Skeptics will be along shortly to claim it’s swamp gas.
As caption on the big statue of Ozymandias sez, “pull my stone finger.” ;^)
LOL
Yep it’s a goner might as well drill there anyway.
In the next episode he will tell us of a strange red rock called granite. Its near indestructible qualities prove the existence of the extremely advanced silurian culture that created it.
LOL
That is hilarious man... :)

A second ping to an older topic.
A few years back, before the Gabby P murder, one of the genres on YouTube was of people who'd sold everything else and lived in campers and motor homes (one guy had survived a disease and a divorce and had a sailboat) and documented their travels and such. That ran its course. I think these (at least three) guys who go on repetitive trips to find repetitive things is just about over. But, no spoiler from me, see this one yourself.

Could you please tell us when this object is first captured in video? His shows usually spends three quarters of the time showing his scrambling
Being an explorer myself, I enjoy watching these types of videos with my boys and then we go look for stuff!
I have seldom watched the entire video, lots of describing, walking through barren terrain, talking about the site.
The scrambling and climbing and sheer drops — I do wonder if any of these guys is out there solo, seems like they should have someone with them.
