Almost a quarter of U.S. children under the age of 18 live with one parent and no other adults (23%), more than three times the share of children around the world who do so (7%). The study, which analyzed how people’s living arrangements differ by religion, also found that U.S. children from Christian and religiously unaffiliated families are about equally likely to live in this type of arrangement.
In comparison, 3% of children in China, 4% of children in Nigeria and 5% of children in India live in single-parent households. In neighboring Canada, the share is 15%.

Subsidize something and get more of it.
That is awful, horrific. This is what the Godless commie progs have brought us to.
Its the governments fault.
That is true.
But it didn’t help me when my pop died when I was 14 :)
I ran wild...he died 6 weeks into me being in high school.
Made lots of friends, was wrestling, getting good test scores.
A year later all that changed.
And I had a GOOD family.
But no one is dad.
I straightened out by my mid 20s. But not before causing myself and others a lot of grief.
BTW folks, you aren’t BORN knowing how to be a man at a certain age.
I made up my own rules of what a man was...and what a disaster my list was :)
Dems are morons. Dads matter a whole, whole lot.
Trump!
Exactly. AFDC and other welfare, media propaganda and no-fault were instrumental in bringing this about. Of course, this was initiated and planned by the KGB back in the 50s/60s. A defector laid it all out at the time.
No racial breakdown.
We need another great awakening.
End Welfare child support for all mothers who have a living father who should be supporting them.
Make the Horn-Dog Men pays for EVERYTHING, and reimburse the US Government for everything given to cover for their sperm ejaculation.
A proven fact indeed it’s why we have more illegals arriving by the day.
And this is why our society has failed.
The mental health industry has done its job well.
BTW folks, you aren’t BORN knowing how to be a man at a certain age.
Very sad
Not just Harris or Trump, but the next several Presidents over the next 20-30 years are going to have to deal with massively bloated government debt, inflation and insolvency, marxist agitation, the reversion to a clearly multi-polar world - the fall out of the country’s moral decline and a fraying social fabric
None of them are good trends, and they all seem to wrap around each other.
Brother, HARD WON aren’t the words. Well, yeah they are :)
The number of times I did the same thing that ended badly each time before I stopped.
Each averaged between 3 and 5 times. things that should have been very obvious.
I took my ex girlfriend’s boys under my wing...two Puerto Rican kids from Brooklyn.
I tried really hard for 4 years...I reached one a little and the other not at all.
But their real dads were sick monsters.
Mine was at least great until I was 14.
Anyway, you sound wise.
Have a good day
What do you expect from a welfare country.
That will be the reason that this election may be close. Sadly.
Congrats Democrats and Hollywood. You have managed to break up so many families with your indoctrination.
Today couples treat marriage as a “temporary case of insanity”, and soon leave for abundant hookups and new relations - very little commitment these days.
Vows now are more like “promise to love honor and obey... UNTIL things don’t go my way, then all bets are off”
I am surprised by that rate. I would have thought single motherhood would be far more common in other lands, compared to the US. Maybe my surprise is nothing more than residual conceit of the average American, that our standards of living would without question, be in the top levels, at least in a material sense.
The sense of community is very likely stronger and more flexible in most other countries, compared to the US, partly due to most other countries being more racially and culturally homogenous than here in the state. That, would not be a surprise. I had presumed that formal marriage (vs having a common law spouse) was more common here. Maybe not anymore.
