U.S. — What was expected to be a close Presidential election is now projected to be a 50-state landslide for Trump after the former president showed up to a rally in a squirrel costume.
Honoring the late squirrel "Peanut," Trump delivered his entire stump speech in the costume, clips of which spread across social media like wildfire. Within hours, polls showed a historic swing, with millions of voters switching their allegiance to Trump.
"They're after you — me and Peanut are just standing in their way," said Trump. "That is why today, I am calling for a day of mourning for Peanut. Let all MAGA flags be flown at half-mast today in his memory. On Tuesday, we're going to do this for Peanut, we're going to restore justice to this country, and make America great again not just for humans, but for all woodland creatures."
Thousands of Americans dressed in squirrel costumes began showing up at polling stations, eager to save America on behalf of Peanut. "How would I explain to my children that I could have stood up for Peanut, but didn't," said local man Dennis Hamilton, waiting outside a polling station. "We've got a country to save."
At publishing time, Nate Silver had committed seppuku after seeing his entire prediction model rendered irrelevant by a squirrel.
And the imprisonment of a thousand Americans for strolling through the capital on January 6.
It’d be great. YUGE!
Probably not a good idea, but I would’ve laughed like hell at it.
Sorry, DayGlo, I have to disagree. There is indeed a lot of humor in this Bee piece, but the NYS tyrannical FIVE HOUR invasion and euthanizing two animals under the pretense of “rabies” is serious business. It speaks to how the government under Hochul, Harris and Walz will treat all of us. If we weren’t less than a day out from the election, we could let a humor piece just be humorous. But the humor here masks a very serious big government, despot, evil problem.
We need all hands on deck to fight creeping communism that might capture us tomorrow.
We can (hopefully) return to letting humor be humor on Wednesday.
Bump!
He can let others do it for him, as they are doing very well at it.
With the reaction of the garbage truck and the vest, this might actually be doable. Trump shows up in the costume at a rally and demands the feds come get him.
I love it! Lol
>> We all could use a laugh right about now — It’s The Bee!
The Bee??!? I thought it was REAL! I was so impressed I was fixin’ to go vote for him again!
> “Say his name!”
And for goodness’ sake, SPELL IT RIGHT, dammit!
It’s “P-Nut”. (I think...)
And Vance in a moose suit.
Drive Boris and Natasha nuts.
If only.....
Thanks for posting that excellent piece.
Let’s hope it’s enough to swing local elections in NYS.
I have noticed that Harris hasn’t made any condemnatory statements on this outrage. Now the Dems hate squirrels and racoons as well as kittens, puppies, and ducklings. Oh, yeah, and babies.
Only one site I saw suggested that and it was only a *may have been*.
Got something reliable to support that?
Thanks re the double posts,
If you see a double post from me just ask the techs to eliminate one of the posts as a duplicate.
That only happens on my responses to FR.

My complaint was about the disruption caused by the double-post of a long copy/paste block, not the fact that it appeared at all. I have no place objecting to any FReeper's comments; I'm not the Thread Police, that's the Mods' job. :-)
But here's the underlying reason for my comment:
Many years ago, when my then-wife and I did many years of Wildlife Rehabilitation, we were similarly raided by the New York DEC Goon Squad, and they killed many of the animals we had cared for daily, even hourly, for months. It was terrifying, a horrific massacre of so many animals' lives, and it took us a long time to recover from having our privacy and safety so severely attacked. We grieved for months.
So as it happens, the story of P'Nut the Squirrel has an extremely personal aspect for me. Been there.
That's why I was happy to see some gentle humor come out of yet another instance of government over-reach and needless cruelty.
I'm sure you understand.
Sure thing. :-)
Also please see my comment #38 above. It helps explain why this thread is particularly meaningful to me.
Thanks for your backstory. It makes it quite personal for you.
