The Only Patriotic Choice for President
The New York Times ^ | Sept. 30, 2024 | The Editorial Board

Posted on 10/26/2024 9:17:33 AM PDT by E. Pluribus Unum

It is hard to imagine a candidate more unworthy to serve as president of the United States than Donald Trump. He has proved himself morally unfit for an office that asks its occupant to put the good of the nation above self-interest. He has proved himself temperamentally unfit for a role that requires the very qualities — wisdom, honesty, empathy, courage, restraint, humility, discipline — that he most lacks.

Those disqualifying characteristics are compounded by everything else that limits his ability to fulfill the duties of the president: his many criminal charges, his advancing age, his fundamental lack of interest in policy and his increasingly bizarre cast of associates.

This unequivocal, dispiriting truth — Donald Trump is not fit to be president — should be enough for any voter who cares about the health of our country and the stability of our democracy to deny him re-election.

For this reason, regardless of any political disagreements voters might have with her, Kamala Harris is the only patriotic choice for president. Most presidential elections are, at their core, about two different visions of America that emerge from competing policies and principles. This one is about something more foundational. It is about whether we invite into the highest office in the land a man who has revealed, unmistakably, that he will degrade the values, defy the norms and dismantle the institutions that have made our country strong.

As a dedicated public servant who has demonstrated care, competence and an unwavering commitment to the Constitution, Ms. Harris stands alone in this race. She may not be the perfect candidate for every voter, especially those who are frustrated and angry about our government’s failures to fix what’s broken — from our immigration system to public schools to housing costs to gun violence...

...should be enough for any voter who cares about the health of our country and the stability of our democracy to deny him re-election.

"Health of country"? Really? HA! By what measure? I would suggest that voters consider the following legitimate metrics of the "Health of our Country" during the Biden/Harris administration...

1. Abandonment of security of our border and invasion of illegal aliens,

2. The weaponization of federal agencies and judges against political opponents,

3. The gift to transvestites (or whatever one chooses to call them) special privileges to lurk in bathrooms and dressing rooms of the opposite sex AND letting them compete unfairly in sports teams of the opposite sex,

4. Spending our national treasure into debt oblivion in order to buy votes and reward political allies,

5. Letting dangerous felons out of prison ahead of sentence (and not charging for serious crimes) Police departments have lost important funding, we are less safe as a nation,

6. NOT supporting our precious Military (by not undermining morale and effectiveness with woke dogma and by not spending on needed military upgrades and deserved increased salaries), and

7. Many more, we can thus conclude that the "health of our nation" is clearly compromised and degraded, and it's occurred in the last 3+ years.

And to the "democracy" assertion?

Dems/Marxists/progressives just love to claim the "democracy" mantle don't they? Curiously, how many rank-and-file Dem voters actually voted for Ms. Harris during the primaries? Curiously, they don't seem outraged or upset about the lack of "democracy" within their own party.

Nor do they seem miffed at how then Democrat RFK Jr. was muscled out of the Democrat democracy thingie.

Yes, in 1932, The New York Times' Walter Duranty won a Pulitzer for stories defending Soviet policies that led to the deaths of millions.

Had to look...

The flâneur was a leisurely observer of urban life, watching, but not participating in the things they saw. Many flâneurs were also artists and writers who used their observations to inform their work.

I am noticing from the number of NYT articles being posted on FR that NYT is now SCREAMING that Trump is bad, bad, bad.

Well, I hate to tell NYT that when they are SCREAMING, people just ignore NYT as they WU=OULD ignore a RAVING LUNATIC.

Wasn’t it the NYT who was praising Hitler in the 1930’s?

Patriotic? ROTFLMAO. She isn’t even an American. How in the hell can she be “patriotic”. She’s an illegal anchor baby born to a Jamaican and and Indian and was raised in Canada. Just say no to drugs.

They must not be trying very hard.

“Marxism is patriotism” worked for the USSR; they still call WWII the “Great Patriotic War” to this day.

It is hard to imagine a paper more unworthy to serve as the paper of record than the NYT. It does not provide news but Leftist propaganda, lies and omissions of negative democrat news. It is a shame that E. Pluribus Unum seems to have a pathological need to post so many “articles” from that paper

This unequivocal, dispiriting truth — Donald Trump is not fit to be president — should be enough for any voter who cares about the health of our country and the stability of our democracy to deny him re-election. …
Oh yeah, “democracy” versus republic again. Guess what one of the biggest Democratic party icons thought democracy actually is:
… For it is very clear that in fundamental theory, socialism and democracy are almost, if not quite, one and the same. They both rest at bottom upon the absolute right of the community to determine its own destiny and that of its members. Men as communities are supreme over men as individuals. …

— Woodrow Wilson, Socialism and Democracy, 1887
So if we always substitute the word “socialism” for “democracy”, the truth about what people like the Slimes ed board are referring to becomes disgustingly explicit.

“These nyt articles are just getting tedious at this point.”

That’s the case with lots of AI generated stuff. NYT articles appear to be generated by some totally-predictable AI robot that’s been programmed to pick up anti-Trump, pro-Democrat propaganda that it locates.

The same with the AI bot candidate for President that the NYT robot supports. Totally programmed - and when confronted with some question that was not programmed for, is confused and comes out with gibberish.
