She could learn to code but that requires logic.

I think there is an opening for a Deputy Assistant for Spent Fuel and Waste at the Nuclear Agency since Sam Brinton had to step down for personal reasons.

Does your daughter do a follow-up on her applications, like sending an email a few days later? Sometimes that can be the difference. Plenty of places are desperate for someone, anyone, who will show up on time, be able to pass a drug test, and not quit after three days.

Of the many things my life could be, I’m so very happy that “Case Study” is not one of them.

She obviously doesn't want a job.
To: Dr. Sivana
These days it’s a numbers game. She needs to customize her resume to the specific job. It’s tedious, but it’s the only way to get past the computer screening.

Is that clown for real? Is that makeup or real tats? Good freaking grief, what has the human race become. We have, well some have dropped to the levels of demonic. It is demonic. Totally lost in sin.

I was recently in Italy. Not trying to brag. Just that almost NO ONE has tattoos over there.
I came back and went to a tavern this past weekend. Every waitress had multiple tats. Quite a stark difference. Especially in the way the younger women present themselves.

When you’re going to spend that much time, effort and pain getting the equivalent of a 4-yr old’s refrigerator artwork plastered all over...
Seems like a poor choice for an employee, without a reasonable sense of artistic discernment. It’s office space will soon be overrun with Smurf tchotchkes and paperclip origami.
And the out-of-control drug habit.

She would waltz through the school and grad first just on looks alone.

My Dad gave me some advice a never forgot. I was interviewing for jobs in case I didn't get a scholarship for grad school. My Dad pointed out that (way back in the day) campus recruiters were seeing 20-30 people a day and you had to do something that made you stand out. He told the story how one interviewer would hand a mechanical pencil to the student and say: "Sell me this pencil." Most would try to sell the features of the pencil: retractable point, free refills, etc. Then, he handed the pen to one student. He studied the pencil for a moment and then put it in his shirt pocket. After a minute of silence, the interviewer said: "Well?" The student looked at him and said: "If you want your pencil back, it will cost you $5."
In short, you have to do something that separates you from the crowd. I found it successful to study the history of the company and ask a question about it (e.g., "I noticed you acquired company XYZ three years ago. How has that worked out?"). This shows an interest in the company over and above it just getting a job.

My daughter is 20, no tattoos, dresses properly, speaks politely, but is not a go-getter. She applies for entry-level jobs, but rarely gets follow-ups, so she has little experience. Something is broken in the system. My kids were that way until I moved them out, and they had to support their own spending habits. It was a miraculous transformation.
