Well I had to clean up some disgusting tables, and others were very clean with dishes stacked up. It seems the clean ones left a tip of a dollar, which was big back in the day.
Whenever I go to a sit down restaurant today, I make sure the dishes are in order for the busboy.
Flame away
You can always tell people who started out the hard way, busing and waiting tables by how they treat others. I don’t go out often but I always make sure I leave a generous tip
This was covered live a few moments ago on Newsmax. He may still be there.

I’ve worked in restaurants too. While I also like to stack my used plates when I’m done, I don’t hold it against anyone who doesn’t. The busser’s job is to buss, not the customer’s. It’s nice if they can help, but it’s not on them to do so.
I haven’t seen a busperson in a long time. Usually it is the waitstaff (formerly waiter or waitress) who takes the plates.
I didn’t bus tables but i did wash dishes, then food prep, then cook. When I was a dishwasher I always thanked the busperson when she (almost always a female) brought back the unfinished wine carafs still standing upright in the bus tray.
Apparently he is headed to the famous Trump store which is only a few blocks down the road, if SS will clear it
Pingy...
Same. I always tip in cash and generously. Been there, done that. It aint where you start out, its where you end up.

My wife and I usually eat at the bar. We stack our dishes so it is easier for the bar-back to take.
Trump would be better served working the fryer on the midnight shift at Waffle House while simultaneously holding a rally for the midnight brawlers and harvest their ballots before they go on their next drunken bender

I do the same thing. I’ve been in every aspect of the Food Service industry from bottom to the top.
I watched that live. Not only did he make fries, but he also passed bags of fries out the take-out window to several carloads of people, all of which seemed very friendly. They were not charged for the fries. He even handed some fries to members of the media.
+1 so true. The garbage tables left everything a sloppy mess that you couldn’t avoid getting on you as you bussed the table. At my restaurant, unfortunately, the waitstaff got all the tips, so we were left cleaning up the most disgusting mess ever.
The waitstaff did tell us that they got the biggest tips from the tables that required the least work.
I always organize the table before leaving a restaurant for that same reason.
I went to McDonald’s for the first time in years last week when I was on a road trip. Horrible experience as the mismanaged teenagers running the place were unable to get my order of a double cheeseburger and four piece chicken nuggets to me in the twenty minutes before I stormed out in frustration. Over eleven dollars that order, but I was done waiting.
