+1 so true. The garbage tables left everything a sloppy mess that you couldn’t avoid getting on you as you bussed the table. At my restaurant, unfortunately, the waitstaff got all the tips, so we were left cleaning up the most disgusting mess ever.
The waitstaff did tell us that they got the biggest tips from the tables that required the least work.
Same here - the waitstaff at the restaurant I worked at in college actually mocked the bussers and back room staff because we were working for $5.35/hr while they were making $15/hr on tips. (This is in “way back when” wages). We had no pity on them for the 16+ tables that left no tips. At the same time, those tables made our lives miserable on the cleanup side.
