1: Machu Picchu, Peru

Few places capture the imagination like this archaeological site, a citadel built by the ancient Incas in the 15th century and mysteriously abandoned. Machu Picchu's network of dry-stone walls and agricultural terraces etch the mountaintop site, surrounded by Andean peaks. Throw in llamas and alpacas, who graze on grassy slopes nearby, and you have a winner.

I’m just about ready to pull the trigger and retire my iPhone 12 and get a iPhone 16.

I used “Photoshop Elements,” Photoshop, and Lightroom for years and liked them, but Adobe got really intrusive with their software. They make it almost impossible to eradicate it from your computer. Then they radically revised the pricing plan which was even worse. I gave up on all Adobe products and switched to the excellent Pixelmator Pro and Luminar Neo on my Mac. Great products, far less intrusive than Adobe, and FAR cheaper with almost parity on features. The image editing software by Luminar is outstanding.

The DaVinci horse tribute was made in upstate NY somewhere I believe. The project was funded by a Meijer foundation. A proof of concept, basically a slightly larger than life horse, was cast in bronze, and then the colossal bronze versions were made.

Contrary to the ridiculous lies of NY (and apparently AP) media a-holes, the proof and one of the colossi were moved to the Grand Rapids MI area, to Meijer Gardens, and eventually the proof was given to another museum or park somewhere.

The other colossus went to Milan as a gift.

Years earlier there was a special exhibition of Pietro Perugino’s work in the museum in Grand Rapids, and the NY media reaction was, never has a more important exhibition been done in a less important place.

29: Mayan Ruins of Tulum, Mexico

Looks a little dull by Mayan ruins standards, imho.

Odd that Socotra isn’t on the list, although that’s part of Yemen, so, caveat emptor...

Thanks for posting the list.
I have seen four of them. Some I have never heard of. We do have a beautiful and amazing world. We just lose side of that sometimes.

”Garth Herrick and DaVinci's Horse” video said at the end, “It was suppose to be impossible to make a sculpture of a horse on two legs.”
I have three small bronze statues by Remington of horses on two legs. Two rearing and one going down hill (Mountain Man).
