1: Machu Picchu, Peru

Few places capture the imagination like this archaeological site, a citadel built by the ancient Incas in the 15th century and mysteriously abandoned. Machu Picchu's network of dry-stone walls and agricultural terraces etch the mountaintop site, surrounded by Andean peaks. Throw in llamas and alpacas, who graze on grassy slopes nearby, and you have a winner.
“EGADS!! Looks like a beginner got some new image processing software and turned the HDR knob up to 11. What an awful image.”
I’ve been seeing a lot of that. Oversaturation. The world just does not look like that. kind of like the Simpson’s episode. “Oops I had the make up gun set on whore.”
Fascinating info, WY. Thanks.
It reminds me of the mid 80s when suddenly everybody discovered they could use fonts. Simple documents got almost unreadable with ridiculous fonts. Not soon after that, gratuitous graphics got added to documents and we were off to the races.
Now we have AI generating amazing graphics. So much change in only 40 years.
Hands off my Comic Sans!
Preacher, you’ve stopped preaching and started meddling!

It is already at the point where the AI generation of pictures, articles and podcasts is getting really good for the average Internet denizen.

Volcanic crater, with a lava plug center?
I lived in Lake Tahoe for 12 years and the number of incredible views is amazing. There is nothing like skiing down Heavenly Valley on a blue bird day when the entire basin is coated in snow. I'm sure I've got a shot somewhere...
Not my shot but this pic works! Link to a live cam at the top of the Heavenly Valley Gondola- https://www.skiheavenly.com/the-mountain/mountain-conditions/mountain-cams.aspx
Lovely
Rio from Pao do Azucar to Sao Conrado
From Leme and Copacabana to Leblon and ipanema with Christ statue in back is a contender
Glacier national park and Patagonia mountains too
Cobalt inky seas of the deep Caribbean at sunset
Santa Fe downtown with fresh snow
Joshua Tree
London in the 80s
Manhattan skyline from the triboro
Paris or Rome period
Provence with keeps and castles dotting hilltops like a children book inside cover art from the 50s
550 from Durango to Ouray colorado in winter
Mossy laden southern hardwoods swamp with cypress and full bellied ducks swarming in at dawn
Cockpit country or Blue mountain peak of Jamaica laden in mist
It’s a beautiful world
Villa de Lieba Colombia near Tunis
I forgot about that one
Special high Andes colonial village
Bolivar was there a bit
Cloud Gate
Really?
I’d never heard of that one and others. :^)
Crater Lake Oregon rather than Meteor Crater AZ? Chicago? I think it’s possible that there’s a partisan agenda grinding on in the background. It would come as no surprise if, in five years such a list will consist entirely of plaques regarding quasi-historical leftist BS.
