Looks like Pete won the war against the chow line.

Lithium batteries absolutely can explode.

Although, I guess it depends on where you draw the line between “burning extremely fast” and exploding. But I’ve seen a solar powered device that overcharged a very hot (sitting in the Sun at 120 in Hobbes NM) battery explode (or burn so fast) it knocked out windows. I’d call that an explosion.

No clue if this was the battery alone or if they put on a little postage stamp of a helper. There’s plenty of possibilities.

You must be pretty certain that everyone you pass each day isn't a terrorist.

I am pretty certain.   But. if I was so unfortunate as to be near a Muslim terrorist at the wrong time, I would shout out at the top of my lungs for our guy to take the shot or push the button.   I would rather be the one doing the double tap for the score.

The two things are not analogous at all.

The salt was to make it more shelf stable at room temperature.

Their butter was also high in salt for the same reason. Made the best cheese and tomato sandwiches.

I don’t know if I ever had the butter. I remember the home-churned butter on my maternal grandparents’ farm. It was a bit salty, but the best butter, evah! I splurged and bought some Amish butter some time back, hoping it might compare. Not even close.

<>This article assumes . . . that no innocent bystanders were injured as well<>

The article made no such assumption.

Yeah I know man. I’m not crying. We can handle ourselves. But these trolls ruin a good discussion.

False equivalence.

Nice try.

In this case the delivery was very accurate but there was no assurance that the correct targets were holding the device and that no innocents nearby would be harmed.

Um, I'm sure Hamas was very careful in who they blew up. Didn't matter to them whether they murdered a baby, a pregnant woman, a grandmother, a son, or a beautiful young woman. Hamas-niks deserve, even their innocents, all the worst. You're known by the company you keep.

Your grandparents probably had slightly soured cream because they kept it for a few days to have enough to make a batch of butter. And cultured cream makes for a very tasty butter although it can give some off flavors in baking.

Everything in the store in the US is mostly sweet cream now days.

Try butter labeled "cultured" and see if that is closer to what you remember.

I so appreciate your common sense and sane opinions about this event.

What horrifies me is that no longer on Free Republic are conservatives allowed to disagree with each other on a particular narrative without being called names....such as Jew hater etc. No discussion allowed. It sickens me. Childish. It’s what the leftists do. I’ve been on Free Republic for 24 years and I have never seen it this bad. It makes me sad.

BTW 32 % of people living in Lebanon are Christians. Does anybody research?

WTF you have sympathy for the terrorist.

Wut???

I never stated that but you go ahead and see what you want to see.

I stated that activating explosives without confirming the targets for the sake of expediency, while ignoring risks to innocent civilians, is unacceptable.

I do have sympathy for the next innocent civilian who gets killed because some government agency didn't think their life was worth protecting... and the one after that, and the one after that - because as these government entities become emboldened by their cheering section, they'll cross more and more lines as part of their onward march to deny people their rights.

Mark the calendar. You've been warned. The same decision makers who crossed that line will do it again and they'll use remote access to cars, computers, smart meters, remote gas monitoring, etc. Then they'll tell you that urine you smell is rain.

I agree 100%
it sounds like military issue pagers in which the soldiers would have primary custody

I guess T.B. Yoits is going to have to be pitching instead of catching from here on out.

Your focus on homosexual behavior throughout this thread is telling. It's okay. Someday you'll be free and can really blossom.

The Babylon Bee has a funny parody about a pager blowing up in Rashida Tlaib’s office. Surely an unrelated event.

Thank you.

You're right to ask if posters do any research.

They're paid by their handlers not to. As more stories surface about money paid to "influencers", it becomes apparent that as the Propaganda Media loses influence, they're paying individuals, many with multiple accounts, to spread propaganda throughout the web.

Free Republic is inevitably a target because Jim doesn't accept money from advertisers and keeps it self-funded which makes him one of the few who can share the truth.

Don't be discouraged. If they didn't fear the truth, they'd be quiet.
