Share of DJT (Donald Trump Media Co.) jumped after hours from a close of $18.63 to an after-hours price of $19.22??? If Trump performed so badly during the debate, WHY are shares of DJT jumping up after-hours by a significant amount? Anyone have an answer?
Kamalas’ remarks sounded more like someone trying to get kids to join summer camp:
“We are going to have so much fun....”
it is dropping like a rock now, -16.64%
i was never bullish on this stock, but I did made a lot of money going in and out at the right time.
i knew the company is already draining money, and the fact that president trump is posting on X, and seemingly mismanagement by nunes....
president trump will win, he can’t run the company when he’s the president.
Tonight, someone said Trump is running to be President, Kamala is running to be class president.
the betting markets are likely full of all sorts of people, many swayed by emotion or shiny object/moment, lacking in real substance or truth.
betting markets are not like lie detectors or facing the law, so people sway them as they wish.
that you want to promote them as an indicator, I don’t know why, they really don’t mean a lot, it’s just a place to make money, maybe.
betting markets are all about making money and how much they can make, not about who do they like in any way.
Don’t have any experience with betting markets, but when I’ve traded stocks I’ve noticed a stock might go down after a good earning report or up after a bad one. Think this is due to the market already anticipating how good or how bad the report will be. Perhaps the betting odds are telling us that gamblers anticipated Harris doing worse than she did, but they are not necessarily telling us she did well. Still they favor Harris at the moment overall. But then they are unlikely to stay still...
That may be the case, but such markets are also manipulated for propaganda purposes. Just like public polls.
(I didn’t watch it, but the reports I’m seeing don’t sound great.)
How many of us here honestly believed in 2016 that Trump had more then a snowballs chance in hell of being POTUS?
I know for a damn fact a lot of here hoped he would be, but assumed it’d Be Clinton 2. Like we Assumed it’d be Joetato even though it shouldn’t have been. or Obama.
Betting markets are odds driven. They make money on the Vig. They have to even out the bets for each person or team so the losers pay the winners and they get the 10%.
I watched the debate with friends last night....same friends with whom I watched the first Trump-Clinton debate. We all agreed Kamala did better than we expected and held her own, at least as it would appear to those who do not really follow the issues and just go by appearances. We thought that no one who favored Trump prior to the “debate” would jump ship, but that the squishy middle voters would now have a more favorable opinion of Kamala Harris. I do not think this debate will have a long term effect nor change the ultimate outcome. We recalled thinking we were likely to have a Clinton presidency again after the Trump-Clinton first debate and thank God that did not happen. No matter what happens to Trump, he will be forever loved for keeping us from having a Hillary presidency. He will now do the same to send Kamala back to the Peoples Republic of California.
DJT stock has been a reliable proxy for Trump’s chances—as when he goes up in the polls, DJT stock does also. The exact opposite, if he drops in the polls—the stock has reacted that way regardless of how the market as a whole performs
I realize the market is down 400-500 points (about 1%) this morning, bur DJT is down 16%...about 3 points.
Trump stockholders do not think Trump did well last night.
Yes, that too. Many are probably shorting DJT, too, because of the debate.
I still remember the editorial cartoon on that date. Mondale is holding a First Place trophy while watching the audience members carry Reagan away on their shoulders.
True, but sadly, the demographics back then are way, way different than they are now (not to mention the woke mindset that has infected many, including the business world and even the military in our country now).
