Trump Called Project 2025 Author ‘A Right Wing Asshole’, RFK Jr. Says
Mediaite ^ | 8/30/2024 | Philip Nieto

Posted on 08/30/2024 1:05:34 PM PDT by Miami Rebel

RFK Jr. said during a Friday episode of the All In podcast that Trump will not implement the Project 2025 agenda and is instead more focused on his legacy.

“If President Trump wins, that people are going to see a very different President Trump than they did in the first term. I think he’s changed as a person. And I’ve known him for, you know, 30 years,” Kennedy said. “But I think he is, he’s focused on his legacy.”

Project 2025 was organized by Kevin Roberts, president of the Heritage Foundation, along with a group of former Trump White House officials in preparation for the former president’s return to the Oval Office. Kennedy added:

And he brought this issue up to me and he said, you know, they always tell me I’m on for Project 2025. I never read Project 2025 until they start accusing me of it. He said that was written by a right-wing asshole. That’s what he is. He said they’re left-wing assholes and there are right-wing assholes and it was a right-wing asshole who wrote that thing and then he started going through it.

So I, you know, I think he’s interested in his legacy now. He wants to leave behind some accomplishments and he wants to make our country better. And I think he’s, you know, he’s listening to a wider range of voices. He’s preparing to govern right now. And, you know, I’ll be on the transition committee picking the people who are going to govern…There’s going to be a wide diversity of stakeholders. But he’s listening to more than just that narrow right wing.

RFK Jr. just dropped a bombshell:@RealDonaldTrump admitted to him that he wasn’t prepared to be President in 2016 and that the Project 2025 creators are “right-wing assholes.”

But here’s the thing—both @RobertKennedyJr and Trump seem to understand the importance of learning… pic.twitter.com/zHOp9GKrfH

RFK, Jr., is and always has been a loose cannon. Looking past the excitement of picking up his endorsement, his sudden advocacy is not an unalloyed plus for the campaign.

Uh oh. If Trump rejects the principles laid out in Project 2025, that could drive his base to not vote for him. Yes, he should distance himself from this document, but not completely trash it.

I honestly don’t know what is in Project 2025 but the left has been wrapping it around Trump’s neck for months now it hasn’t helped him

Trump isn't a full-blown conservative, so this probably checks out. I like Trump, but we'll still need to find a conservative with Trump's moxie that will implement true limited government. Trump isn't a limited government guy even though he of all people should be at this point.

I don’t trust the heritage foundation. It looks like they put this huge thing out, which Trump certainly didn’t need, with the intention of making him have to defend it. Isn’t this the same bunch who publish those lists of “conservative” justice for presidents to appoint rinos to the Supreme Court?

Project 25 is ALL MAGA certified but Trump is trying to build a coalition and skim precious voters. Meanwhile WEF 2030 and other agendas are a gun to the head of America as we know it.

You must love losing and, when you win, being betrayed. The “true conservatives” you praise are rollover cucks. I will never vote for a Bush-Cheney allied d-bag for the rest of my life.

The leadership of the GOP is garbage and Trump is the only Republican worth voting for.

I disagree with Trump on his Heritage bashing.

I do think Trump needs to step outside of the terrible Republican lineup Mitch McConnell insisted on, though. No confirmation with a Republican-controlled Senate without Mitch choosing them.

With Trump's own minor choices, Donald has got a strangely-skewed belief that wealthy or good-looking people are his best choices for positions. Thus, you wind up with the Anthony Scaramucci-type boneheaded choices, that only rest on Trump's smarts.

Mitch screwed Trump on major picks, while Trump screwed himself with the Cassidy Hutchinson picks.

To: Miami Rebel; anyone

Ive been wanting to do a post about project 2025 but I can’t decide in what manner.

Anyway it’s quite long and I’m perhaps 1/2 the way through. Much if it is honestly sort of dry reading, talking about tax rates, costs , narrowing the scope of Gov etc.

It has hundreds if not a thousand ideas, plans and Improvements to our system. Very few seem alarming to me in anyway.

So far it seems a giant PR scare campaign by Democrats has been implemented to effect their base and organize votes. It’s hard to believe so many republicans have obligingly joined their cause. Also that moderate Kennedy thinks that is disappointing and to say the least Trump might be one as well is even more so.

To the extent Heritage is behind the ACB HandMaiden appointment, they need to be abused.

I thought the 2025 Project was about identifying a MAGA cadre for appointment should Trump overcome the impending steal.

No no no! It hasn’t helped THEM! Not completely? Ok. Think abortion-you know rape, incest, 6 weeks.

Our man will be thinking of his legacy from day one. RFK Jr. will be a big help. Can he win over the majority and stick it to the Chuck Schumer’s at the same time? If it’s anyone it’s him.

IMO the people that come up with these kind of things in this political environment aren’t helping.

Since they did this without coordination with Trump is telling. I think it’s an effort to stab him in the back with a “friendly” knife.

I excerpted this quote from the article announcing the resignation of the person that led the effort:

“LaCivita and Susie Wiles, both Trump campaign managers, said in a statement that the Trump team ‘has been very clear for over a year that Project 2025 had nothing to do with the campaign, did not speak for the campaign, and should not be associated with the campaign or the President in any way.’

They continued, ‘Reports of Project 2025’s demise would be greatly welcomed and should serve as notice to anyone or any group trying to misrepresent their influence with President Trump and his campaign — it will not end well for you.’”

https://www.cnn.com/2024/07/30/politics/project-2025-paul-dans/index.html

I know CNN, but I think the reporting on this is accurate.

Trump has said it 100 times. He is NOT connected to Project 2025 in any way.

This. The media-lie-system is spreading alarm that this "Project 2025" is radical and dangerous, and most of the population get their information from media-liars.

I've watched the Heritage foundation for years, and they are not radical. They are common sense, but liberal-liars are painting them as radical and dangerous.

The real problem here, as with everything else in this nation, is the media-lie-system having too much power. We need to destroy it. The country cannot operate properly without the public being able to get accurate information, so the media-lie-system needs to be destroyed.

I’ve only read bits and pieces of project 2025, but what I HAVE read , it seems to me to be more centrist-establishment stuff, with a few conservative leaning things that I may agree with, but think they don’t go far enough to save the nation.

I have reached the point where I just assume any of those prominent conservative groups are nothing more than legal money-laundering rackets staffed by useless grifters.

He’s 90% nut job. The remaining 10% is very good, though.

Anyone remember Solzhenitsyn visiting the US when Ford was in office? An editorial cartoon showed Ford and Kissinger hiding behind a couch not wanting to see him. Solzhenitsyn spoke the truth and the deep state had bigger fish to fry.
