I know many folks don't like it when someone creates a thread using a Youtube video as the source, and doesn't give a synopsis about what it's about, but I wanted to post this one because I think it speaks to the times we now live in.
Long and short, he says that when evil takes over, rural living is not much safer then living in the city and he lays out the reasons why. It's a good listen if you got the time. Share your thoughts.

It’s safer until a truckload of illegals with guns come down the driveway. Then it’s war, and they’ve got the element of surprise to their advantage.
Unless you know how to farm and can defend your land, it won’t be safer.

Out here in the sticks where the blacktop ended 4 mi before my home our sheriff’s department is fully staffed our neighbors are fully armed are forests are full of deer.
No way in hell am I safer in the cities. Between the neighbors dogs and my dog we will know you’re here before you know you’re here
I’ve lived in both environments. Living in major population centers nowadays can be very hazardous in many different ways.
I inherited 18 acres of scrub woods for deer hunting in an adjacent rural county. Turns out it’s the county with the most meth labs in the state.
There’s a better field of fire with more space.
Perimeter detection, long range movement detection, cameras...
Know your neighbors and their strengths and weaknesses.
Recon drones, have ready-made roadblock material, the list goes on and on.
A lot of variables involved, but I think we're going to fare much better than city folk.

I’m on 40 acres in the middle of nowhere... and I have drones to scout with and a good security cam setup (wired not wifi) that can run on my solar power :-)
When evil takes over no places are going to be safe.
Some Rural and small town areas have terrible drug problems nowadays.
Some rural and small town areas law enforcement have their hands full,,battling against big city street gangs which are invading their areas.
In case of societal breakdown, we all would have to be ready to take care of ourselves , regardless of where we live
We are seeing family cul-de-sacs with both basically no barriers only families with homes on the cul-de-sac.
My wife has siblings back in the midwest, and one branch of the family is a cul-de-sac only with electronic gates to get into the Cul de sac.
It would be very easy to disrupt/eliminate a city’s food supply.
One advantage to the country is that if you successfully defend yourself, and the perp dies in the process, you are more likely to get away w/the shovel and shut up part.
That means you are at far less risk of the government locking you up for defending yourself.
Cliff notes: When people in major population centers run out of food, they are going to go to where the food comes from.
