The Gaza pier debacle: it's worse
American Thinker ^ | 25 Aug, 2024 | Mike McDaniel

On July 14th, in The pier to nowhere is going away, I wrote:

When what’s left of the pier is finally removed and probably, scrapped, we can be certain, just as with the withdrawal debacle in Afghanistan, the MMPA will declare it a brilliant success and an example of the military acumen and inspired leadership of Joe Biden. Interestingly, at his recent NATO conference, Biden sort of allowed the pier wasn't as successful as it could have been. And like that disaster, we’ll never know the true financial and human cost.

The horror of it is Israel has ports that could have been used far more safely to offload supplies, but then the MMPA couldn’t brag about their stunningly successful relief efforts. As always, our troops suffer to enable feckless political stunts, but at least Joe got his photo ops.

Since then, the media, and the Harris/Biden Administration--Joe Biden, vanishing POTUS—have ignored the unfolding debacle. The pier, badly damaged and sort of repaired, supposedly has been dismantled, and multiple US Army(?) ships are in little better shape. Earlier reports indicated those ships had substantial difficulty, so poor was their mechanical condition, even getting to the Middle East. Now it appears they’re no longer able to return to America under their own power.

Roughly seven months after setting sail for the US military’s troubled temporary pier mission off the Gaza coast, three US Army boats are expected to have to be hauled back to the US by contracted civilian vessels behind schedule, raising more concern about the state of the Army watercraft at the center of a major effort to bring humanitarian aid into war-torn Gaza.

“[C]oordination is underway for the [landing craft utility ships] to be transported back on contracted Float-On/Float-Off vessels with an expected ETA of late-October,”

It's not incompetence it's treachery.

It's also really great news for America.

The Biden Administration’s total fail on this one is total win for our country.

The intent of this pier was to circumvent Israeli control of the flow of supplies and weapons to Hamas and to provide an evacuation site that would allow the evacuation of Hamas and Gaza “civilian non combatants” to third party countries without having Israeli or Egyptian scrutiny of just who was going where.

The Democrats are going to have a much harder time bringing a couple hundred thousand ex Gaza/Hamas residents to American so they can hang out with the Afghan Taliban and Somali war lords and war criminals the Democrats and the UN trafficked into the US.

That pier was not designed to be used on an open, unprotected beach. It was an existing asset, designed for reopening damaged harbors. Everybody involved with it knew that.

OF COURSE it got wrecked.

I assume that Biden's handlers intended to wreck it.

This was not incompetence, it was malice.

Another Democrat success story ... for America’s enemies ... oh just blame Trump for it like they did for all their other failures.

Profits that likely found their way into Democrat pockets if not campaigns.

Mammoth vote fraud operations require a lot of untraceable money.

It was political pandering for the muslim vote in Michigan. Bi-Dung ordered the military to do it. He was interested in optics and that was all.

The Gaza pier wasted at least a billion dollars which under the circumstances is money well spent because it rally damaged the plan to evacuate Hamas to Detroit and Minnesota and give them perpetual, life time government “refugee” stipends courtesy of the American taxpayer.

It could be worse.

At least they haven't tried to fix the problem by draining the Mediterranean ...

... yet.

Why don’t they just abandon them on the beaches of N Africa or even right there in GAZA. Let them float to the nation of NATO families looking for a place to thrive. SARCASM? or not

Author thinks he is being cute/snarky with his personal acronyms (viz~MMPA). It only obscures your message and p*sses off your readers. Make your point clearly and concisely and inject some wit when the opportunity presents itself.
