Amid the gloom, doom and anger, can ‘joy’ win voters over?

The campaign for the presidency overflowed for months with dark ruminations about the furies to be unleashed should the other side win: World War III, another Great Depression and even the possible ascent of a dictator. Into this season of gloom, enters a onetime high school teacher, football coach and corn dog lover, who has introduced a revolutionary alternative — joy.

“Thank you for bringing back the joy,” Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz said to Vice President Kamala Harris, as the two made their first appearance this week as the new Democratic ticket for the White House.

If he won his role as Harris’ No. 2 in part because of his unique framing of former President Trump and Ohio Sen. JD Vance as “weird,” Walz extended his meme-making role by bringing a decidedly lighter tone to the presidential race.

“All the things that make me mad about those other guys and all the things they do wrong, the one thing I will not forgive them for is they tried to steal the joy from this country,” said Walz, 60, at a Detroit rally Wednesday. “But you know what? ... Our next president brings the joy! She emanates the joy!”

The unexpected turn has delighted Democrats and infuriated Republicans. Democrats have seen fundraising surge and poll results tick upward since July 21, when President Biden gave up his bid for a second term and Harris stepped forward. The trend has continued since Tuesday, when she named Walz as her vice presidential pick.

Some people bring joy wherever they go, others bring joy whenever they go.

I think the joy drops off after people see her more...

Heels Up! is like Cankles; their numbers go up when they stay out of sight and down when they don't.

Once again, they’ve changed the meaning of words. I don’t associate joy with killing babies or presidents, nazi style ratting on your neighbors, being lied to including that she’s ineligible, making criminals heroes but torturing the innocent and I don’t see any joy in being invaded, massive job loss, piss poor health care and families not being able to put foot on the table and keep a roof over children’s heads and absolute zero joy in what the sicko pervs are doing to our children.

Joy is a woman’s buzzword. That’s why it is primarily overwhelmingly women at her rallies. She has a problem with the male demographic which relates her to weakness. The joy nonsense does not work with them and only underscores her weakness. I cannot picture Trump having a joy theme for his campaign

I remember going to work for Taco Bueno in Texas in 1979. We had to wear a button that said “Pleasing You Pleases Me”. And we were told that the CEO’s wife came up with the design that if you looked in the mirror, the word “you” became “joy.” I always thought it had a sexual connotation but I was only 16.

What you’re saying is true... to a thinking person who has a working, non-brainwashed mind.

But remember, FRiend...these people (and I use that term loosely) are brain-washed to a fare-thee-well. All the things you mentioned are ‘good, right, and A-OK’ to these evil-drenched fools. When your worldview is completely taken by the utter evil that they view as ‘right’, of course they’re going to be joyous.

Joy can win voters. Low information. Privileged persons who haven't suffered under this administration. And far left voters who now have the most radical leftists on the ballot. First time voters? Blue dog Democrats? Older Dems unhappy with woke?

It will not be enough electoral college votes to defeat Trump, but California and other solid blue states could give them the popular vote victory

Democrat Joy! Reminds me of the little boy in the room by himself that is neck deep in horse sh!t. He’s flailing away and happy as can be because with all that horse sh!t, he knows there has to be a pony in there somewhere.

So when Democrat candidates campaign this fall they need to speak with “joy” about unrestricted abortions.

It’s just more vapid nonsense defended by their evil media. Communist Chinese style propaganda. “We want happy peasants.”

Not much “ joy” in Walz’s Minnesota. Crime is on the increase, Minnesota is now one of the five highest tax states, restaurants and small businesses closing droves due to Walz’s COVID shutdowns and high taxes, Minnesota is now the abortion Auschwitz, Timmy’s tampons in boys bathrooms, hundreds of millions of state dollars lost in a Somali lead food and daycare frauds and the list goes on. Minnesota has converted from land of 10,000 lakes to the land of 10,000 taxes

No, it’s not a clever move. Nothing satanic clever. It’s low IQ.

““But you know what? ... Our next president brings the joy! She emanates the joy!””

Yeah, Tim. Nothing spells Joy like struggling to put food on the table to feed your family, with everything going up except the money coming in.

And Joy is definitely spending $60 - $100 every week to fill up your vehicle so you can get to and from work... if you’re lucky enough to still “have” work. Joy is also spending thousands on health insurance while illegals get that and everything else “fwee”.

And while we’re on the subject, what a joyous celebration we’re having while dealing with the transgender madness and insanity, which you have supported and helped facilitate... and all while we’re on the cusp of WWIII... with the joyful realization that the people currently in charge of our very lives and future in the White House are actually on the side of our enemies.

I’d like to return the favor, Tim... and hand you a little of that same joy. (I’m dreaming, but it’s a nice dream)
