BREAKING NEWS 6'6" monster schoolboy learns his fate for beating up tiny female school aide for taking his Nintendo Switch
Daily Mail UK ^ | August 7, 2024 | James Cirrone

The monster special needs student who pummeled his teacher after she took his Nintendo Switch has been sentenced to five years in a Florida state prison.

Brendan Depa, who was 17 at the time of the beating, tackled teacher's aide Joan Naydich, 59, in February 2023 and unleashed dozens of punches to her body and head, leaving her seriously bruised and unconscious.

Depa, who is 6'6' and 270 pounds, has become a legal adult since the brutal attack he perpetrated at Matanzas High School in Palm Coast, Florida, a moderately sized town near Daytona Beach.

He pleaded no contest to the aggravated battery charges against him October and was originally due to be sentenced in May 2024, but the judge delayed the hearing so he could hear from more witnesses.

Arguably the most crucial testimony came from Naydich herself, who told the court: 'Brendan Depa's actions that day has caused me to lose a job that I had for almost 19 years, lose my financial security, lose my health insurance.'

Naydich, a mother of two, has previously called for her teenaged attacker to be locked up for the maximum sentence of 30 years.

But the decision from Judge Terence Perkins to give Depa 25 years less than that could have do with the exculpatory testimony that came from his mother and arguments from his defense team.

Leann Depa, his adoptive mother, said she had warned the school about her son's laundry list of triggers.

According to her, 'electronics' was his biggest trigger.

'I had told the school that being hungry was a trigger, that noise was a trigger, that being told no was a trigger, that being corrected in front of other people was a trigger, and electronics was a huge trigger,' she said on the stand.

His parents did homeschool him. When he grew big and strong at 14, they had to place him in an institution. See post #30 for more info about what’s happening in these cases.

These were the kind of people that electroshock therapy was originally intended for...people who were too violent to be around other people, including guards and psychiatric staff. Instead, it was used as a control mechanism for as many committed people as they could use it on.

In cases like this the Leftists (who were the ones advocating this “humane” approach) determined that, for animals like these, the “right” to uninhibited freedom for those disturbed people was greater than the right of personal safety to any unsuspecting citizen who encountered them.

And we get this. An unsuspecting teacher’s aide, interacting with this beast who apparently had “triggers” ranging from taking away an electronic game to looking him in the eye (gee, that sounds vaguely familiar) has lost her health and her livelihood.

She was lucky she didn’t lose her life itself.

As for him? I don’t believe all the “trigger” BS. He has low impulse control and had open license to do as he pleased, at least until he beat this person to a pulp and woke up normal people to those dangers.

However, the same people that advocate for uninhibited freedom for people who are as dangerous as this perp is, no doubt still have the “courage of their convictions” and believe he should be out walking the street to beat some other person senseless.

They should be forced to live in close quarters with him for a month.

“The sentence was not long enough.”

I’m surprised he got off that light in Florida. Doesn’t seem like enough punishment for what he did.

And what he did was attempted murder resulting in serious injuries. He didn’t just bloody her ear.

Guess there are still some judges on the bench that the Sunshine State needs to replace.

There’s only kne thing that will fix this: more parents refusing to send their kids to publik skrewls.

What you suggest will never happen. A slightly more realistic rhemedy would be to prosecute officials who order students like this into public school who then proceed to attack people. When judges and other political leaders truly become culpable it’s amazing how their behavior can change.

I don’t consider myself woke, but calling the disturbed kid a “monster” in the title has an ick feeling for me.

I understand exactly how you feel, but I will bet in the PTSD visions that teacher’s aide has, this person has assumed the exact proportions of a “monster”.

The only “good” thing about society’s current state of forgiving everything for some “better good” reason is that we no longer have to pay at the county fair to see the “freak show”. It is free for all. Just walk around...the freaks are everywhere (that includes in politics and government). So many cannot accept that some people do not belong in civil society.

If that is the case here, why are they throwing a young, handicapped person to the wolves? Oh I know why... They aren’t worth throwing money at just like the rest of the mentally ill people that menace the public and themselves, who should be institutionalized. Gotta support Ukraine, other country’s citizens who break in, pet projects, foreign influence, oops, “aid” money and the list goes on. But there’s no money to keep dangerous people who can’t be rehabilitated, humanely locked away. Where did the money come from decades ago when we did fund those places?

She said she didn’t take the game away from him. She said she spoke with a teacher about the game, and the teacher talked to Depa about it.

But, I agree that she should never have been a paraprofessional.

She was a school cafeteria worker for 17 years. Then, she completed training to be a paraprofessional. She was in her second year in that position, and she was assigned to Depa.

But, based on her comments, she doesn’t seem to understand the point of why a paraprofessional is needed. These students might look grown, but they are toddlers in their heads.

If she understood, she would be demanding institutionalization, instead of a long prison sentence.

Two other autistic students attacked paraprofessionals in the same school system, and they weren’t sent to prison.

More on what the victim said:

I can't imagine what that poor kid is going to have to endure while in prison. He needs medication and constant supervision by skilled professionals, not prison guards.

No good is going to come from this

As I suspected. His “disabilities “ encouraged coddling and feedback his abusive nature. You grow what you fertilize.

We’ll see how well those “triggers” serve him in the prison population.

As usual, the "courage of their convictions", is just fine with them so long as they don't have to bear the consequences or manage the problem.

I'm not sure this is mental illness but a creature whose bad behavior has been indulged. It does not matter though since peaceful society can't be maintained with him in it. If he "triggers" in the slammer he will get a taste of his own medicine.

Liberals don't understand boundaries and the controls necessary to have them and that rights don't mean anything you want to do is OK no matter who they hurt. I don't think it even enters their heads. How would they respond if it was they who got beat to a pulp by this animal without self-control or boundaries?

We dealt with a child like this. This is what happens when a child is raised to believe he’s a god. Unfortunately there are many children raised like third and they eventually become dangerous sociopathic adults. We found schools can’t help much and focus on keeping the student calm and “happy” to get through the day. The court system allows a dysfunctional parent to continue enabling the child, which is actually a form of emotional/ psychological abuse, but it is allowed because a blood mother does it. Any progress we made with the boy (now a legal adult) was allowed to be completely undermined by the pathological parent. He refused to learn personal accountability because mommy was always there to rescue her precious extension of herself. He needs to go somewhere where mommy can’t rescue her little baby boy and he’s forced to grow up but at this point she completely destroyed and controls his life. He’s 6’ 2” 350 lbs and she talks to him and treats him like he’s an infant, he eats it up. They embrace and silently stare deeply into each other’s eyes for long periods that are beyond creepy. He is violent, destroyed much of my home and put me in the hospital. The system is broken. At this point the only thing you can do is NOT REPRODUCE WITH SOCIOPATHS.

When I was in grade school we sold magazine subscriptions or candy or something else, I can’t remember now. If we sold enough, we got to choose from a sort of catalog of things as a payment. I chose a knife from the catalog. It was a cheap version of a Swiss Army knife. I think I still have it somewhere.

My, how times have changed.

I can’t imagine it, either. The other autistic students who attacked aides in this school weren’t sent to prison, and they were legal adults.
