She said she didn’t take the game away from him. She said she spoke with a teacher about the game, and the teacher talked to Depa about it.
But, I agree that she should never have been a paraprofessional.
She was a school cafeteria worker for 17 years. Then, she completed training to be a paraprofessional. She was in her second year in that position, and she was assigned to Depa.
But, based on her comments, she doesn’t seem to understand the point of why a paraprofessional is needed. These students might look grown, but they are toddlers in their heads.
If she understood, she would be demanding institutionalization, instead of a long prison sentence.
Two other autistic students attacked paraprofessionals in the same school system, and they weren’t sent to prison.

My wife was a para for 20 years. Thank God she never had to deal with someone like him, but the signs of the school letting the kids do whatever they wanted were starting to pop up. Then COVID happened, and the schools closed for a time. THAT’S when she retired.
