I want to be as respectful as I possibly can. The rumors are intense as of this posting whether or not Joe Biden is deceased or actively dying. This vanity post will address the issue of transfer of power.
On the event of death, is VP Harris, due to both her birth status and her parents birth status, able to assume the Presidency? Or will this pass to Speaker Johnson until January?
I think she’s as qualified as Obama was. And I think our Constitution will be as vigorously enforced now as it was then.
I think you could spend 10 years fighting this in court and still not get a definitive answer.

The SCOTUS refused to hear these cases from 2008-2016. The originalists obviously being that the founding fathers and writers of the Constitution had all read Vattel’s laws of nations. See NY public library checkouts and 200 year later book return.
They refused because they believed that the POTUS could be sufficiently vetted by the people and the media, and they didn’t want the legal system to interfere in elections.
They have kept that trend recently, and I doubt they would stop Kamala.

Thank you all. I think this is an interesting conversation to have. I have always been of the opinion that if she wasn’t eligible, she would not be where she is now. But as someone astutely commented, look at Barak Obama and his questionable birth certificate.
So we await today’s fresh hell.

most people assume our leaders would not allow wrongs or evil to infiltrate our upper offices. we (as others in our country’s past) are experiencing otherwise.
sure people can argue Supreme’s shouldn’t take it up or should take it up, but there is right and wrong, and many times wrong is foisted upon the people.

Likely less but Obama had a fake birth certificate to hide behind. Kamala Harris has no such thing. Her parents are on record as becoming citizens after she was born.
The weakness of the Supreme Court doesn't legitimize the fraud.
The failure to challenge Harris’s eligibility for VP tends to foreclose raising the issue as to her succeeding Biden in the event of hos death or resignation.
Obama at least had one American parent. The Hyena had two alien parents at birth. Given that the GOP let her slide in as VP, they are not going to declare her illegible (even though she would have been considered as such until just recently).
I wasn’t familiar with her background.
This was settled by the 14th Amendment. It is also settled by Obama’s presidency.
The NBC clause is moot.
