Very careless for a software developer to do this. Completely unexpected with all of the validation steps that must happen before a new release.
Then again.... most of the media are talking about the crash instead of Trump's speech last night.

Purportedly, the fix for the PC/crowdstrike BSOD is to reboot in safe mode and delete a specified crowdsrike file.
The fake news wouldn’t have said anything good about his speech anyway, so I doubt that’s it.
Maybe a dry run for crashing the election software
I work in cybersecurity. This sort of thing doesn’t happen. Quality control is critical in devops, because what you’re seeing happen right now is exactly what happens if you don’t test.
The fact that this happened is validation of Hanlon’s Razor, but which is it? Malice or incompetence?
My conspiracy is that they want to usher in the digital dollar. With each crash, they install a step or two towards that.
Too many steps to get to the point where it BSODs people's computers.
I have become more suspicious these days and for good reason. The win at all costs left, which includes an assassination attempt of a presidential candidate, seem more plausible these days.

Most average folks don't use this software. Only businesses.

I was paged several times yesterday evening and have been up since 4AM when I got paged again. This sucks. Hospital. We are functional now, but a lot of workstations in and out of our control not functioning.

Validation steps? New release? Things don’t really work like that anymore. The modern world is constant updates, generally weekly or biweekly. And all it takes is for one thing to have a hardcoded path that’s accurate on the staging system but not in production and the whole things poops the bed.
